    HandyMan/Facilty Manager

    Responsibilities

    • General Maintenance: Conducting regular inspections of the school premises to identify and address issues such as plumbing problems, electrical malfunctions, HVAC (heating, ventilation, and air conditioning) maintenance, and general repairs.
    • Carpentry and Repairs: Handling carpentry work, fixing broken furniture, repairing doors, windows, and cabinets, and ensuring that all wooden structures are in good condition.
    • Painting and Decorating: Taking care of painting needs both inside and outside the school building, and maintaining a visually appealing environment.
    • Safety Inspections: Conducting safety checks to ensure that the school meets all safety standards and regulations. This includes examining fire exits, emergency lighting, fire extinguishers, and other safety equipment.
    • Groundskeeping: Overseeing the maintenance of the school grounds, including the playground, lawns, gardens, and parking areas.
    • Security Management: Collaborating with the school administration to implement security measures and monitoring systems, such as surveillance cameras and access control systems.
    • Equipment Maintenance: Ensuring that all school equipment, such as projectors, interactive whiteboards, and audio-visual systems, are in working order.
    • Routine Cleaning and Upkeep: Supervising janitorial staff or performing cleaning tasks as needed to maintain cleanliness and hygiene throughout the school.
    • Waste Management: Managing waste disposal and recycling processes efficiently and responsibly.
    • Inventory Management: Keeping track of supplies and equipment, ordering replacements as needed, and maintaining an inventory of essential materials.
    • Emergency Response: Being prepared to handle emergencies and coordinating with relevant authorities during crisis situations.
    • Budgeting and Cost Control: Assisting with budget planning and ensuring cost-effective practices for facility management.
    • Vendor and Contractor Management: Overseeing contractors and outside vendors for repairs, renovations, or other facility-related projects.
    • Compliance and Regulations: Staying up-to-date with relevant laws, regulations, and building codes to ensure the school's compliance with all requirements.
    • Record Keeping: Maintaining detailed records of maintenance activities, repairs, and equipment servicing.
    • Energy Efficiency: Identifying opportunities to improve energy efficiency within the school premises and implementing energy-saving initiatives.
    • Sustainability Initiatives: Supporting environmentally friendly practices, such as recycling programs and eco-friendly facility management strategies.
