Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Solar Repair Technician to diagnose, maintain, commission, and repair residential solar photovoltaic (PV) and energy storage systems. The primary focus of this role is troubleshooting system faults, restoring system performance, and performing preventive maintenance to ensure safety, reliability, and optimal energy generation. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical expertise, hands-on problem-solving skills, and a customer-focused mindset, with the ability to deliver both remote and onsite support while maintaining accurate service documentation.
Key Responsibilities
System Diagnosis & Troubleshooting
- Diagnose faults in residential solar PV systems using diagnostic tools, system data, and technical expertise.
- Identify root causes of inverter, battery, wiring, and overall system performance issues.
- Proactively resolve equipment and system malfunctions both remotely and onsite.
Repair, Maintenance & Performance Optimization
- Repair, replace, and recalibrate solar system components, including inverters, lithium batteries, BMS, charge controllers, wiring, and mounting systems.
- Perform scheduled and preventive maintenance on residential PV systems to ensure long-term reliability and efficiency.
- Test and validate system performance after repairs or servicing to confirm full functionality and safety compliance.
Installation & Commissioning Support
- Install and support the installation of residential solar panels on rooftops, buildings, or designated ground areas to maximize sunlight exposure.
- Ensure proper panel alignment, positioning, and secure mounting for optimal power generation.
- Install, service, and troubleshoot energy storage battery systems, including lithium-ion batteries.
- Connect solar panels, batteries, inverters, grid supply, and backup generators in compliance with approved wiring standards.
- Commission solar PV systems, battery storage, and grid connections after installation, upgrades, or servicing.
Electrical Wiring & System Configuration
- Configure and maintain electrical wiring systems connecting solar panels, batteries, inverters, and balance-of-system components.
- Inspect electrical components, identify faults, and resolve wiring or connection issues.
- Ensure all electrical works comply with safety standards, regulatory requirements, and manufacturer guidelines.
Documentation & Reporting
- Complete detailed service reports, repair logs, and documentation after each assigned job.
- Maintain accurate records of diagnostics performed, parts used, corrective actions taken, and system status to meet company and partner deliverables.
Customer & Team Interaction
- Interact professionally with customers, clearly explaining system issues, repairs performed, and preventive recommendations.
- Deliver high levels of customer satisfaction through effective communication and quality service delivery.
- Work independently and collaboratively within a multitasking team environment.
- Train, mentor, and support junior technicians or team members when required.
Safety, Security & Compliance
- Follow all safety procedures when working at heights or handling electrical and solar equipment.
- Adhere strictly to industry standards, codes, and safety regulations.
- Support the process of obtaining required permits and approvals for solar installations and repairs when necessary.
Qualifications & Skills
- Proven experience troubleshooting, servicing, and repairing residential solar PV systems.
- Strong understanding of inverters, lithium batteries, BMS, charge controllers, and PV system components.
- Hands-on experience with diagnostic tools and specialized repair equipment.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical diagrams and system layouts.
- Strong problem-solving skills with high attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to work safely at heights and in outdoor environments.
- Ability to work independently, manage multiple tasks, and meet service deadlines.

- Experience with remote monitoring and diagnostics of solar PV systems.
