Remuneration: 250,000 Naira/Month

Job Description: Our client, an education and career management institute is looking for a Resident Adviser who is interested in teaching teenagers. The adviser will be responsible for presenting our advisory services in ways that will strengthen our brand and boost relationships with parents and school administration alike.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist students with career selection through assessments, special events and academic follow up

• Schedule and meet regularly with advisees to ensure that they have all the resources that they need for success

• Advise students on ways to be successful in secondary school

• Assist students with subject selection and give advice about how to improve their grades

• Evaluate the students’ academic and social growth, making recommendations for exams and university pathways to help with successful applications.

• Refer counseling for students working with difficult subjects, academic needs, or other challenges that may interrupt optimal school performance.

• Understand and research all the necessary paths to getting the university degree that the student and family want, depending on academic track record and university destination.

• Develop schedules to help the student select, apply, and be admitted to colleges and universities.

• Transfer necessary documents to different departments, schools, or districts upon request.

• Work with teachers to write and upload strong letters of recommendation

• Assist students with standardized test registration and preparation

• Meet deadlines and submit detailed reports to your line manager

• Represent the organization and our partnered institutions at various events, speaking to current and prospective students and families about our services

• Engage in relevant professional development and associations

Job Requirement:

• Minimum of HND/BSc Or Masters Degree in education, Guardian And Counselling or other related courses

• Minimum of 5-7 years experience as a counsellor, career advisor, school manager.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and the Internet.

• Strong presentation, communication and written skills

• Should be patient and effective listeners

• Creative, out-of-the-box thinkers

• Resilient individuals who would not take no for an answer

• Believe in the mission of the organization

• Have great emotional intelligence and desire to work with and teach teenagers
