    Fixed Equipment Strategy Specialist II

    MAIN FUNCTIONS

    The prime objective for the Fixed Equipment Strategy Specialist is to co-ordinate and facilitate fixed equipment strategy development for the site. The role also provides materials engineering support for routine
    and turnaround activities for the site.

    TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

    In addition to Level 1 tasks and responsibilities, Level 2:

    • Manages the facility-wide maintenance function to ensure the availability of safe, responsive, high quality, repair and maintenance services including preventive, routine, non-routine and emergency capabilities.
    • Provide necessary development, motivation, coordination and internal cooperation for groups/individuals under his/her control in order to maximize efficiency.

    Specific Requirements:

    Risk-Based Inspection (RBI):

    • Designing and implementing RBI programs
    • Applying principles from industry codes and best practices to maintain safe and reliable operations.

    Asset Integrity Management:

    • Managing the integrity of pressure equipment such as pressure vessels, piping, and storage tanks.
    • Understanding degradation mechanisms and corrosion control strategies including repair methods

    Fitness-for-Service (FFS) Assessments:

    • Performing FFS evaluations per API 579 to assess pressure equipment integrity and remaining life.
    • Recommending repair or replacement based on risk assessment.

    Inspection & Non-Destructive Testing (NDT):

    • In-depth knowledge of inspection methodologies such as UT, RT, PAUT, and visual inspections.
    • Interpreting inspection results to drive maintenance and reliability decisions.

    Failure Analysis & RCA:

    • Conducting root cause analysis (RCA) for integrity-related failures.
    • Developing corrective and preventive actions to mitigate future risks.

    Analytical and Problem Solving

    • Applying strong analytical skills to evaluate inspection data, predict equipment degradation and make informed integrity decision.
    • Proficient in use of Microsoft Office Suite – PowerPoint, Excel, Word
    • Relevant API certifications considered an added advantage

    SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

    • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering within discipline or equivalent professional experience
    • Strong knowledge of discipline design standards, specifications, codes, and appropriate safety criteria
    • Ability to adapt to tight deadlines, heavy workloads, and frequent changes in priorities
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite of software programs
    • Read, write, and speak fluent English, especially as it applies to technical and business communications
