Finance Assistant at Community Health, Justice and Peace Initiative for Development (JDPH)

Community Health Justice and Peace Initiative for Development-JDPH recruiting suitably qualified candidate for the position of a Finance Assistant. The candidate will work under the supervision of the Finance Manager.

Length of Contract: 4 months

Location: Fune, Yobe State

Age: 25 – 35 years

Roles and responsibilities

• To oversee the financial recording procedures, daily expenses and documentation of all financial transactions
• To maintain and disburse amounts approved by the Executive Director as directed by the Finance Manager
• Prepare monthly Bank reconciliation reports and present same to the Finance Manager
• To verify and certify that funds disbursed are efficiently and effectively used
• Initiate new methods and strategies that would advance financial procedure and process of the organization
• Maintain petty cash book and ensure monthly cash count
• Ensures all outgoing correspondence, reports are shared with the Finance Manager.
• Report discrepancies to the Finance Manager
• Raising of payment vouchers and ensure all supporting documents pertaining transactions are available before payments are made
• Perform other related duties as directed
• Report to the Finance Manager

Essential skills 

• Ensures effective use of resources

• Computer skills (MS Excel, Word, Accounting software (Quick book)
• Willing to learn on the job

Educational Qualification 

Essential: University Degree or HND in Accounting from a recognized institution

Experience

At least 1 year of finance management of NGO related project.
