    Head Chef

    Key Responsibilities

    • Lead and supervise all kitchen staff including line cooks, grillers, bakers, and kitchen assistants.
    • Plan, develop, and update menus in alignment with company goals, seasonal availability, and customer preferences.
    • Ensure consistency in food quality, taste, and presentation across all shifts and outlets.
    • Maintain high standards of cleanliness, hygiene, and food safety (in line with NAFDAC & HACCP standards).
    • Monitor daily kitchen operations and ensure optimal staff allocation for each shift.
    • Train, mentor, and motivate kitchen team members to maintain professional standards and growth.
    • Control food costs, reduce waste, and ensure efficient inventory management.
    • Collaborate with procurement to ensure timely supply of quality ingredients.
    • Conduct regular taste checks, kitchen audits, and staff performance reviews.
    • Ensure all equipment and facilities are maintained in excellent working condition.
    • Work closely with management to develop new products and improve existing recipes.
    • Participate in menu costing, budgeting, and kitchen performance reports.

    Key Requirements

    • Diploma or Degree in Culinary Arts, Hospitality Management, or Food Production.
    • 5 – 7 years proven experience as a Head Chef or Sous Chef in a busy or high-volume kitchen.
    • Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
    • Sound knowledge of menu design, food costing, and portion control.
    • Hands-on experience with African and Continental dishes, pastries, and grills is an advantage.
    • Must have strong organizational and time management abilities.
    • Excellent understanding of kitchen hygiene and safety protocols.
    • Ability to perform under pressure and maintain composure in fast-paced environments.
    • Passion for innovation and commitment to excellence.
