    Finance & Accounts Officer

    Role Overview

    The Finance & Accounts Officer is responsible for managing day-to-day financial operations, including budgeting, bookkeeping, reporting, and financial compliance. This role ensures that all financial transactions are accurately recorded and aligned with organizational policies and standards.

    The ideal candidate is highly analytical, trustworthy, and experienced in financial management systems, with the ability to operate in a structured, mission-driven environment.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Maintain accurate financial records, ledgers, and bookkeeping systems
    • Process accounts payable and receivable in a timely and accurate manner
    • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports
    • Assist in budget preparation, tracking, and variance analysis
    • Reconcile bank statements and monitor cash flow
    • Ensure compliance with internal financial policies and external regulatory requirements
    • Support payroll processing and staff expense management
    • Maintain documentation for all financial transactions and audit readiness
    • Collaborate with leadership to provide financial insights and recommendations
    • Assist in managing donations, offerings, and designated funds with transparency
    • Support audits and financial reviews as required
    • Ensure proper financial controls and risk management procedures are followed

    Qualifications & Requirements

    • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related field
    • Professional certification (e.g., ICAN, ACCA, CPA) is an added advantage
    • Minimum of 3–5 years of experience in accounting or financial management
    • Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting standards
    • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage, or similar systems)
    • Excellent analytical and numerical skills
    • High level of integrity, confidentiality, and attention to detail
    • Strong organizational and time management skills
    • Ability to work independently and within a team in a fast-paced environment
    • Experience in nonprofit, ministry, or donor-funded organizations is highly preferred
    • Personal alignment with the mission, values, and spiritual foundation of Bible Davids Ministries is essential
