Farm Operations Manager - Crop Production at Bizpoint Consult Limited

Our client is building a leading agriculture production and processing business in Nigeria and requires the services of a Farm Operations Manager for Crop Farm sites located in Oyo State.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day, agricultural operational activities at the farm sites.
• Work closely with collaborators in foundation seed and commodity crop production.
• Maintain soil nutrient inventories and prescriptions via field sampling
• Plant, manage and harvest commodity and foundation seed production fields.
• Maintain the chemical inventory and apply all controls for rodent pests in crop fields and facilities.
• Plan and coordinate the timely custom planting, management, and harvesting of commodity crops, as appropriate.
• Coordinate and facilitate safety training for all units and staff.
• Coordinate usage and maintenance of facilities, vehicles and equipment.
• Be responsible along with farm supervisors for fiscal budget development and expenditures.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Agronomy or a related agricultural field of study.
• Knowledge of field crop research.
• Knowledge of mechanical maintenance of vehicles and farm equipment.
• Experience in managing farm enterprises.
• Ability to maintain detailed records and inventories.
• Experience in dryland crop production.
• Experience in managing budgets.
• Hands-on experience with precision application of nutrients or herbicides.
• Ability to communicate effectively, both written and oral skills.
• Demonstrated supervisory experience
