Job Summary
- The Production Manager will be responsible for ensuring that all production activities are carried out safely, efficiently, and in compliance with applicable quality and regulatory requirements.
- The role involves overseeing raw material receipt, formulation, blending, packaging, quality assurance, production scheduling, warehouse coordination, equipment maintenance, and production documentation.
- The successful candidate must be capable of building and managing a production system that consistently delivers high-quality products while maintaining operational discipline and cost efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
Production Operations Management:
- Plan, organize, and supervise daily manufacturing activities.
- Ensure production targets are achieved on schedule.
- Coordinate production workflows from raw material receipt to finished goods dispatch.
- Monitor production efficiency and identify opportunities for improvement.
- Implement and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs).
Product Manufacturing:
Oversee production of:
- Micronutrient formulations
- Biostimulant products
- Water-soluble agricultural inputs
- Specialty plant nutrition products
- Powder blending operations
- Packaging and labeling activities
Quality Control & Quality Assurance:
- Ensure all products meet approved specifications.
- Implement batch production records and traceability systems.
- Coordinate product sampling and testing.
- Investigate deviations and implement corrective actions.
- Maintain production quality standards at all times.
Inventory & Materials Management:
- Monitor raw material consumption.
- Maintain accurate production inventory records.
- Coordinate stock requirements with procurement personnel.
- Prevent material wastage and production losses.
- Ensure proper storage and handling of production materials.
Regulatory Compliance:
- Ensure compliance with applicable regulatory requirements.
- Maintain production records and documentation.
- Support inspections by regulatory authorities.
- Ensure labeling and packaging comply with approved standards.
- Maintain proper hygiene and manufacturing practices within the facility.
Equipment & Facility Management:
- Ensure proper operation of production equipment.
- Develop preventive maintenance schedules.
- Coordinate equipment servicing and repairs.
- Maintain cleanliness and operational readiness of the facility.
Team Leadership:
- Supervise production personnel.
- Assign daily responsibilities and monitor performance.
- Conduct staff training on production procedures and safety requirements.
- Promote a culture of accountability, discipline, and continuous improvement.
Health, Safety & Environmental Management:
- Enforce workplace safety procedures.
- Ensure proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Maintain a safe working environment.
- Report and investigate incidents or near misses.
- Promote good housekeeping practices throughout the facility.
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
The Production Manager will be evaluated based on:

Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree or Higher National Diploma (HND) in: Chemical Engineering, Industrial Chemistry, Chemistry, Biochemistry, Agricultural Engineering, Agricultural Science, Industrial Production Engineering, Manufacturing Technology or related disciplines
- Professional certifications in manufacturing, quality management, or production operations will be an added advantage.
- 5 years relevant production experience.
Preferred:

- At least 2 years in a supervisory or management role is preferred.
