    EORE Community Volunteer

    Project Intervention Areas: Borno (Bama, Dikwa, Gwoza, Mafa, Monguno and Ngala LGAs) & Yobe State (Damaturu LGA).

    Reporting to: Project Coordinator 

    Project activities to be implemented are:

    Explosive Ordnance Risk Education (EORE): the community volunteers will be responsible for facilitating EORE sessions to provide the communities with key risk education messages and information. The purpose of the EORE delivery sessions is to educate and create awareness on Explosive Remnants of War (ERW) and Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs) resulting in reduced risk behavior, promoting safe behaviours and behavioural change within the affected communities.

    Duties

    • Conduct EORE sessions/activities in targeted communities following the operational plan as prepared by the project Manager; 
    • Maintain good communication with other mine action partners;
    • To attend punctually at your place of work or at such other places as your duties required;
    • To devote your whole time and attention to the business of CENSCOPE and not to engaged directly or indirectly in any other business of any kind;
    • To act in accordance with the instructions of the project coordinator in compliance with the standard operating procedure of CENSCOPE.

    Language requirements 

    • Proficiency in English, Kanuri, Shuwa, Gwoza or/and Hausa Language 

    Key requirements:

    The following are required skills and experience:

    • A degree, HND, ND from a recognized institution in fields of education, psychology or other relevant field;
    • Ability to facilitate behavioral change sessions using local dialects; 
    • An excellent communicator and ability to be conflictand gender-sensitive when addressing sensitive issues;
    • Ability to be resident in the LGAs of intervention throughout the time frame of the project intervention;
    • Qualified indigenes and residents of the aforementioned LGAs, female candidates, Explosive Ordnance survivors are strongly advised to apply.
