    Finance & Grants Officer

    The Role:

We are looking for a Finance & Grants Officer to build and manage AHF\'s financial systems, ensure grant compliance, and provide the financial reporting that donors, government partners, and the Board require.
This role starts as a part-time or contract position, with a clear pathway to a full-time permanent role as the organization scales.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Manage AHF\'s day-to-day financial operations — bookkeeping, bank reconciliation, payments, and expense management
    • Prepare and monitor programme and project budgets, tracking expenditure against approved budgets in real time
    • Produce regular financial reports for the Executive Director, Board, and donors
    • Ensure grant financial compliance — tracking expenditure against grant budgets, preparing financial reports for funders, and maintaining audit-ready documentation
    • Support the preparation of financial sections of grant applications and proposals
    • Manage payroll and statutory financial obligations
    • Work with the external auditor to ensure annual accounts are completed accurately and on time
    • Build and maintain AHF\'s financial management systems and policies

    What We Are Looking For:

    • At least 3 years of finance experience, ideally in a nonprofit, NGO, or grant-funded organization
    • Experience managing grant budgets and producing donor financial reports
    • Proficiency in accounting software (QuickBooks, Sage, or equivalent) and Microsoft Excel
    • Understanding of Nigerian statutory financial requirements
    • High attention to detail and strong organizational skills
    • ACA, ACCA, or equivalent professional qualification is an advantage but not essential.
