    Hospital Manager

    About the role:

    Our flagship infrastructure project is a dedicated cardiac and specialist hospital in Kano. The facility will provide internal medicine, diagnostics, cardiology, and surgical. The Hospital Manager will be an operational leader on the ground in Kano, responsible for making this vision a clinical and commercial reality.

    Key Responsibilities:

    Facility Operations & Clinical Governance

    • Oversee the day-to-day operational management of the entire AHF Kano facility — internal medicine, diagnostics, cardiology, surgery, and the cardiac surgical programme
    • Ensure the highest standards of clinical governance, patient safety, and quality of care across all departments
    • Develop and enforce operational policies, SOPs, and compliance frameworks across clinical and non-clinical functions
    • Lead the activation of the cardiac catheterisation laboratory and cardiac surgical programme in coordination with AHF\'s clinical leadership
    • Manage the patient journey from referral and admission through to discharge and follow-up, ensuring a consistent and high-quality experience

    People & Team Leadership

    • Lead, manage, and develop the full hospital workforce — clinical staff, administrative staff, and support functions
    • Build a high-performing, values-driven team culture aligned with AHF\'s mission
    • Manage recruitment, onboarding, performance, and retention of hospital staff in coordination with AHF leadership
    • Liaise with visiting surgical teams, international partners, and the AHF Clinical Missions Council

    Business Growth & Revenue

    • Develop and execute a sustainable revenue and growth strategy for the facility 
    • Identify and pursue opportunities to grow the patient base 
    • Manage the facility\'s budget and financial performance 
    • Develop and implement strategies to grow the facility\'s visibility a
    • Report regularly to the Executive Director and Board on performance

    Partnerships & External Relations

    • Build and maintain relationships with the Kano State Government, Ministry of Health, and relevant regulatory bodies
    • Represent AHF in Kano — attending relevant stakeholder forums, health sector meetings, and community engagements
    • Manage relationships with equipment partners, pharmaceutical suppliers, and diagnostic service providers

    What We Are Looking For:

    • At least 5 years of progressive leadership experience in hospital or healthcare facility management
    • Demonstrated experience managing multi-departmental hospital operations — clinical services, diagnostics, administration, and support functions
    • Proven track record in business development, revenue growth, or commercial management within a healthcare setting
    • Strong financial acumen — experience managing hospital budgets, P&L, and financial reporting
    • Exceptional leadership and people management skills — experience building and leading clinical and non-clinical teams
    • Deep understanding of Nigerian healthcare regulations, clinical governance standards, and hospital licensing requirements
    • Kano-based 
    • Fluency in English; Hausa language proficiency is a strong advantage

    Strongly Desirable:

    • Experience in cardiac care, surgical facilities, or specialist hospital settings
    • Existing relationships with Kano State Government, health authorities, or the Northern Nigeria health sector
    • MBA, MHA, or equivalent postgraduate qualification in health management or business.

    Field Coordinator

    The Role:

    AHF is looking for an experienced Field Coordinator to manage on-the-ground implementation of a survey. This is a field-heavy, logistics-intensive role - the person in this position will be the operational lead on the ground, ensuring enumerators are deployed, communities are engaged, field problems are resolved in real time, and data collection proceeds on schedule.
    This is a fixed-term contract role for the duration of the survey (15 weeks), with the possibility of extension depending on programme needs.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Lead day-to-day field implementation of the survey across all LGAs 
    • Manage and supervise LGA-level field enumerators and supervisors
    • Coordinate community mobilisation and sensitisation across LGAs, working with Local Government Health Authorities and associations
    • Manage field logistics — transportation, equipment, printing, and daily reporting
    • Identify and resolve field bottlenecks in real time, escalating to the Research & Data Coordinator as needed
    • Conduct regular supervisory field visits to monitor enumerator performance and data quality
    • Submit daily and weekly field progress reports to AHF
    • Support enumerator training and the pilot review process

    What We Are Looking For:

    • At least 3 years of field coordination or field supervision experience on community-based surveys or public health programmes
    • Experience managing multi-LGA field teams across Lagos State is strongly preferred
    • Familiarity with digital data collection tools (SurveyCTO, ODK, or equivalent)
    • Strong community engagement and communication skills
    • Ability to work under pressure and resolve logistical problems quickly
    • Experience working with health authorities or in a Ministry-partnered programme context is an advantage
    • Lagos-based and available to travel extensively

    Research & Data Coordinator

    The Role:

    This role sits at the heart of AHF\'s research Programme. The Research & Data Coordinator will lead the field research coordination, data management, and quality assurance for the statewide that will generate the first comprehensive registry of its kind, and inform health policy.
    Beyond the survey, this person will grow into the broader M&E and research function across AHF\'s programmes, building the data infrastructure that underpins our reporting to government partners, donors, and the Board.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Coordinate field data collection 
    • Manage field enumerators and supervisors, ensuring protocols are followed and data quality is maintained
    • Monitor real-time data dashboards and conduct routine quality checks throughout fieldwork
    • Liaise with digital registry team on data platform configuration and data capture
    • Manage ethical compliance: supporting documentation, informed consent processes, and data protection protocols
    • Conduct data cleaning, validation, and preliminary analysis 
    • Contribute to report writing, policy briefs, and M&E outputs 
    • Support the design and testing of survey instruments for future AHF research initiatives

    What We Are Looking For:

    • At least 3 years of field research coordination experience, ideally in a public health or maternal or cardiovascular health context
    • Hands-on experience with digital data collection tools - REDCap, SurveyCTO, or equivalent
    • Strong data quality management skills — experience implementing QA protocols across multi-site field teams
    • Familiarity with ethical research governance and experience working with or submitting to research ethics committees
    • Experience working on government-partnered research programmes is desirable
    • Proficiency in at least one data analysis tool (SPSS, Stata, R, or equivalent)
    • Excellent organisational skills and ability to manage a complex, multi-LGA field operation

    Partnerships & Resource Mobilization Manager

    About Access Heart Foubout the Role:

    The Partnerships & Resource Mobilization Manager will build and manage AHF\'s external partnership and fundraising pipeline, tracking opportunities, leading grant applications, stewarding donor relationships, and developing the materials and proposals that bring partners into AHF\'s work.

    What We Are Looking For:

    • At least 3 years of experience in partnerships, fundraising, or resource mobilization, ideally in a nonprofit, NGO, or development organization
    • Demonstrated success in securing grants or partnerships from foundations, bilateral donors, or corporate partners
    • Exceptional written communication: ability to write compelling, funder-ready proposals and concept notes
    • Strong relationship management skills and professional presence
    • Familiarity with global health, maternal health, or cardiovascular health as a funding landscape is an advantage
    • Organised, proactive, and able to manage multiple concurrent opportunities and deadlines

    Communication & Storytelling Intern

    About the Role:

    The Communications & Storytelling Intern will own AHF\'s external narrative: managing content, communications, social media, events, and the patient storytelling initiative that sits at the heart of how AHF connects with the public, donors, and partners.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Manage AHF\'s social media presence across all platforms: developing and scheduling content that reflects AHF\'s work, values, and voice
    • Lead the patient storytelling initiative: coordinating the production of four patient documentary films, liaising with the videographer, and managing the pre-shoot and post-production process
    • Plan and coordinate AHF events and future community and stakeholder events
    • Write and edit external communications — newsletters, press releases, donor updates, website content, and social media copy
    • Develop and maintain AHF\'s visual identity and communications standards across all materials

    • Experience managing social media accounts and developing content strategies

    • Strong visual sensibility — experience with Canva, Adobe, or equivalent design tools
    • Genuine interest in health, social impact, or public advocacy

    Finance & Grants Officer

    The Role:

    We are looking for a Finance & Grants Officer to build and manage AHF\'s financial systems, ensure grant compliance, and provide the financial reporting that donors, government partners, and the Board require.
    This role starts as a part-time or contract position, with a clear pathway to a full-time permanent role as the organization scales.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Manage AHF\'s day-to-day financial operations — bookkeeping, bank reconciliation, payments, and expense management
    • Prepare and monitor programme and project budgets, tracking expenditure against approved budgets in real time
    • Produce regular financial reports for the Executive Director, Board, and donors
    • Ensure grant financial compliance — tracking expenditure against grant budgets, preparing financial reports for funders, and maintaining audit-ready documentation
    • Support the preparation of financial sections of grant applications and proposals
    • Manage payroll and statutory financial obligations
    • Work with the external auditor to ensure annual accounts are completed accurately and on time

    What We Are Looking For:

    • At least 3 years of finance experience, ideally in a nonprofit, NGO, or grant-funded organization
    • Experience managing grant budgets and producing donor financial reports
    • Proficiency in accounting software (QuickBooks, Sage, or equivalent) and Microsoft Excel
    • Understanding of Nigerian statutory financial requirements
    • High attention to detail and strong organizational skills
    • ACA, ACCA, or equivalent professional qualification is an advantage but not essential.
