    Consultant (Investment & Trade Facilitation)

    Scope of work

    The Short-Term Technical Assistance (STTA) pool will provide flexible, demand-led specialist expertise to support delivery of the Strategic Growth and Investment Facilitation Facility (SGIFF). STTAs will be engaged to respond to time-bound, high impact requirements that cannot be met solely through the Core Team, while ensuring delivery remains aligned with programme objectives.
    Typically, assignments can include the following non-exhaustive categories.

    • Investment & Transaction Support
    • Policy, Regulatory, and Reform Advisory
    • Sector Specific and Thematic Expertise (Legal services, Financial services, Education, Health and life sciences, Creative industries (film, music, gaming, fashion)
    • Institutional Capability & Systems Support

    Deliverables
    Deliverables under this programme can include the following.

    • Technical notes for investors or government counterparts
    • Investment briefs and market scans
    • Policy diagnostics and reform options papers
    • Technical inputs to draft regulations, guidelines, or reform roadmaps
    • Sector deep dives and opportunity assessments
    • Advisory inputs to programme pathways and pilots
    • Institutional diagnostics
    • Practical tools, templates, or operating protocols

    Consultant Profile
    The Qualifications For The Consultant Include

    • Bachelor’s degree in finance, banking, economics, social sciences, international development, or related field required.
    • Deep technical expertise in one or more areas relevant to the programme scope, including investment facilitation, trade, sector development, policy and regulatory reform, or priority growth sectors.
    • Strong commercial and market understanding, with the ability to engage credibly with private sector actors, investors, and financial institutions
    • Experience working with government and the private sector, including engagement with ministries, departments or agencies, and an ability to operate in politically sensitive environments
    • Proven track record delivering time-bound advisory assignments, with clear examples of producing high quality analytical, or advisory outputs to tight deadlines
    • Strong analytical and communication skills, including the ability to produce concise written outputs and to communicate findings clearly to stakeholders.
    • Culturally and contextually familiar with Nigeria, with a demonstrated ability to apply international best practice in locally appropriate ways.
    • Experience working with FCDO is a plus.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite helpful.
    • Demonstrated leadership skills, versatility, and integrity.
    • Fluency in English required.
