Consultancy Services at Community Health, Justice and Peace Initiative for Development (JDPH)

JDPH requires the services of a consultant to facilitate training sessions with community members on the construction, preparation and the use of energy saving stoves and briquette.

Objective

The consultant will be responsible for the training of 32 persons (Community members) in Fika and Fune LGAs of Yobe State. The facilitator will train 16 participants on the use of briquettes for 4 (four) days and 7 (seven) days on the energy saving stoves. The training will be centred on supporting the communities through the facilitation on how to construct and use energy saving stoves and briquettes.

Deliverables

• Facilitate a seven-day training on the construction and usage of energy saving stoves and four days training on briquettes for 16 participants for each of the components of the training.
• Support the participants to develop a strategy for the replication of the construction of energy saving stove and briquettes in their communities.
• Prepare report of the training sessions and submit to JDPH three days after the completion of the training.
• Secure a commitment from participants to train other persons within or outside their community on the use of energy saving stoves and briquettes.

Conditions for Hiring

• The facilitator must be an expert in the area of constructing and preparation of energy saving stoves and briquettes with proof of previous facilitation of same training with community members
• Demonstrate ability to carry out participatory facilitation where participants will be engaged in the process
• Experience working with men, women and youth in a humanitarian setting.
• Ability to communicate effectively with participants in English and Hausa languages
• Ability to relate the use of efficient energy saving stove and climate change.
