    Compliance Officer

    Summary:

    • The Compliance Officer is to ensure that our operations and business transactions follow all relevant legal and internal rules.
    • The incumbent will also review employees’ work and provide advice on compliance.
    • To succeed in this role, you should be a reliable professional who is not afraid to speak their mind and stand by their decisions.
    • You should be familiar with risk management and our Industry’s standards.

    CORE FUNCTIONS/RESPONSIBILITIES

    Compliance

    • Develop and oversee control systems to prevent or deal with violations of legal guidelines and internal policies.
    • Implement and manage an effective legal compliance program.
    • Create a comprehensive rule book with all relevant legislation and coordinate training stakeholders on regulations and industry practices.
    • Evaluate the efficiency of controls and improve them continuously.
    • Revise procedures, reports etc. periodically to identify hidden risks or non-conformity issues
    • Draft, modify and implement company policies.
    • Collaborate with Legal and HR department to monitor enforcement of standards and regulations.
    • Assess the business’s strategy and business plan to identify possible compliance risks.
    • Review the work of colleagues when necessary to identify compliance issues and provide advice or training.
    • Keep abreast of regulatory developments within or outside of the company as well as evolving best practices in compliance control.
    • Prepare reports for management and external regulatory bodies as appropriate.

    Required Skills and Competencies

    • 2-3 years proven experience in a compliance officer role.
    • Good knowledge of legal requirements and procedures.
    • Brilliant oral and written communication skills.
    • Highly analytical with strong attention to detail.

    Qualifications and experience

    • Bachelors’ degree in law, finance, business management, or a related field.
    • Professional certification is desirable.
    • Member of relevant professional association is desirable.
