    Community-Based Organization (CBO) Representative

    Unit: Community Structure

    Location: Communities within Adamawa, Gombe, Jigawa, Kano, or Abuja FCT

    Commitment: Flexible / Part-time, 3–6 months (renewable)

    Represents a registered or informal community group in partnership with OHRI, co-implementing activities and ensuring community ownership, participation, and sustainability of interventions.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Facilitate the partnership between OHRI and your community-based organization.
    • Coordinate community participation in OHRI programs and ensure inclusive engagement.
    • Provide local context, cultural insights, and community feedback to OHRI staff.
    • Support the monitoring of program activities and report on community-level outcomes.
    • Help sustain program benefits beyond the project cycle through local resource mobilization.
    • Attend partnership meetings, training sessions, and review workshops as required.

    Specific Requirements:

    • Must be a registered member or leader of a community-based organization (women\'s group, youth association, farmers\' cooperative, religious group, etc.).
    • Demonstrated community leadership and mobilization experience.
    • Commitment to the values of OHRI and willingness to collaborate transparently.
    • Ability to communicate in local languages and work with diverse community members.
    • Commitment of 3–6 months minimum.

    GENERAL INFORMATION ABOUT THE VOLUNTEER PROGRAM

    • Nature of Engagement: Unpaid volunteer service (non-remunerative).
    • Duration: Minimum commitment of 3–6 months; renewable based on performance and organizational need.
    • Locations: Adamawa State (Headquarters), Gombe State, Jigawa State, Kano State, Abuja FCT, and remote/virtual options for select roles.
    • Work Schedule: Full-time (5+ days/week), part-time (2–4 days/week), or weekend-only, depending on role and agreement.
    • Start Date: Rolling basis — shortlisted candidates will be contacted individually for onboarding.
    • Reporting Structure: Each volunteer reports to their respective Unit Manager or State Coordinator, with overall oversight from the Executive Director.

    GENERAL REQUIREMENTS (APPLY TO ALL POSITIONS)

    • Must be a Nigerian citizen or legal resident.
    • Minimum age of 18 years.
    • Strong commitment to OHRI\'s mission, vision, and core values (Resilience, Inclusivity, Stewardship, Integrity, Evidence, Collaboration).
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English; proficiency in Hausa or local languages is an advantage.
    • Ability to work independently, meet deadlines, and collaborate effectively in multicultural teams.
    • Willingness to travel to field locations within assigned states, including rural and underserved communities.
    • Basic computer literacy (Microsoft Office, email, internet); advanced digital skills required for technical roles.
    • Must possess a valid means of identification (National ID, Voter\'s Card, Driver\'s License, or International Passport).
