    Youth Advocates

    ABOUT THE PROJECT

    The Youth Leaders for Nutrition (YL4N) Project seeks to strengthen youth participation in nutrition advocacy, policy engagement, and community action by empowering young people to become champions for nutrition within their communities and states.

    AVAILABLE POSITIONS

    • Lagos State – 20 Youth Advocates
    • Kano State – 20 Youth Advocates
    • Ebonyi State – 20 Youth Advocates
    • Federal Capital Territory (FCT) – 20 Youth Advocates

    ROLE OF YOUTH ADVOCATES

    Successful applicants will:

    • Champion nutrition awareness and advocacy within their communities.
    • Participate in community nutrition dialogues and engagement activities.
    • Mobilize and engage young people on nutrition, food systems, and related development issues.
    • Support evidence generation, documentation, and reporting of advocacy activities.
    • Participate in training, mentorship, and capacity-building opportunities.
    • Collaborate with government agencies, civil society organizations, and community stakeholders.
    • Support youth-led advocacy initiatives aimed at improving nutrition outcomes.

    ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA

    Applicants must:

    • Be between 18 and 30 years old.
    • Reside in Lagos, Kano, Ebonyi State, or the FCT and be available throughout the project period.
    • Demonstrate interest in nutrition, public health, food systems, youth development, or related fields.
    • Possess good communication and teamwork skills.
    • Be willing to volunteer their time and actively participate in network activities.

    WHAT SUCCESSFUL APPLICANTS WILL GAIN

    • Access to mentorship and leadership development opportunities.
    • Participation in state and national advocacy engagements.
    • Networking opportunities with youth leaders and development partners.
    • Practical experience in nutrition advocacy, community mobilization, and stakeholder engagement.
    • Recognition as a SUN-CS Youth Network Nigeria Youth Advocate

    Selection Process

    Applications will be reviewed based on demonstrated interest, experience, motivation, and potential to contribute to nutrition advocacy efforts within the state. Only shortlisted candidates will be contacted.
