    Business Development Executive

    The Business Development Executive will be responsible for identifying, developing, and securing new business opportunities across the upstream, midstream, and downstream sectors of Nigeria's oil and gas industry. This role is focused on driving revenue growth, expanding market presence, and securing strategic contracts by promoting the company's services to International Oil Companies (IOCs), National Oil Companies (NOCs), indigenous operators, and other key industry stakeholders.

    The ideal candidate will play a key role in client acquisition, strategic partnerships, tender management, and market intelligence while collaborating with cross-functional teams to support the successful delivery of projects and long-term business growth.

    Key Responsibilities

    Business Development: Identify, qualify, and pursue new business opportunities across the upstream, midstream, and downstream oil and gas sectors to achieve revenue and growth objectives.

    • Client Relationship Management: Build, develop, and maintain strong relationships with IOCs, NOCs, indigenous oil and gas companies, regulatory bodies, and strategic partners to foster long-term business opportunities.
    • Sales Pipeline Management: Develop and maintain a robust pipeline of prospective clients, projects, and commercial opportunities while ensuring consistent follow-up and conversion.
    • Tender and Proposal Support: Monitor Requests for Quotations (RFQs), Requests for Proposals (RFPs), and Invitations to Tender (ITTs), while supporting the preparation of technical proposals, commercial bids, capability statements, and tender documentation.
    • Market Intelligence: Conduct market research, competitor analysis, and industry monitoring to identify emerging opportunities, upcoming projects, and business trends that support strategic decision-making.
    • Business Development Strategy: Support the planning and execution of business development initiatives that align with organizational growth targets and market expansion objectives.
    • Stakeholder Engagement: Represent the company during client meetings, business presentations, networking events, exhibitions, and industry engagements to strengthen brand visibility and generate new opportunities.
    • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with engineering, procurement, operations, finance, and legal teams to ensure seamless project execution and client satisfaction.
    • Reporting and Performance Monitoring: Prepare periodic reports on business development activities, sales forecasts, market insights, pipeline performance, and tender status.

    Required Qualifications

    • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Engineering, Economics, or a related field.
    • MBA or relevant postgraduate qualification is an added advantage.
    • 3–5 years of experience in business development, sales, or commercial roles.
    • Minimum of 3 years of experience within the Nigerian oil and gas industry.
    • Proven experience in contract acquisition, tendering, and client relationship management.
    • Experience working with International Oil Companies (IOCs), National Oil Companies (NOCs), and indigenous oil and gas companies is highly desirable.

    Skills and Competencies

    • Strong understanding of the Nigerian oil and gas industry structure and value chain.
    • Knowledge of procurement, contracting, and tender management processes.
    • Familiarity with the Nigerian Oil and Gas Industry Content Development (NOGICD) Act and local content requirements.
    • Understanding of oilfield services, including engineering, procurement, fabrication, marine logistics, and maintenance.
    • Strong business development, negotiation, and relationship management skills.
    • Excellent presentation, communication, and stakeholder engagement abilities.
    • Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving capabilities.
    • Customer-focused with a results-driven mindset.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
    • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams in a fast-paced environment.
