Job Overview

• At Betastore, cloud computing continues to allow us to modernize and consolidate IT infrastructure, automate workloads, and pursue next-generation innovation. To continue this transformation, we’re seeking an experienced cloud infrastructure engineer with expertise in the strategy, design, development, implementation, and maintenance of medium to large scale projects in the cloud. 
• The Cloud Infrastructure Engineer will be primarily responsible for utilizing technical skills to coordinate enhancements, maintenance, support, and deployment efforts and to provide insight and recommendations for implementing enterprise cloud initiatives. 
• You will work closely with the Research & Development team, engineering team, and other cross-functional teams as required, to evaluate and identify optimal cloud solutions.

• Are you an IT professional?
• Do you have hands-on experience managing cloud-based assets and related services on different cloud service provider’s platforms Digital Ocean, AWS, Microsoft Azure?
• Do you have practical experience in architecting and maintaining a high-availability production system?
• Do you have practical experience spinning up and managing PostGreSQL or MongoDB databases hosted on Cloud Infrastructure using PgAdmin or other tools?
• Do you have practical experience managing Linux and Windows servers?
• Do you have strong analytical, problem-solving, and research skills?

Responsibilities and Duties

• Handle the spin-up, maintenance, monitoring, and back-up of linux/windows based cloud servers.
• Handle the spin-up, maintenance, monitoring, and back-up of postgreSQL or MongoDB databases.
• Define and document best practices and strategies regarding application deployment and infrastructure maintenance.
• Work in tandem with the Research & Engineering team to identify and implement the most optimal cloud-based solutions for the company.
• Deploying and debugging cloud stacks, educating teams on new cloud initiatives, and ensuring the security of the cloud infrastructure.
• Ensuring efficient functioning of data storage and processing functions in accordance with company security policies and best practices in cloud security.
• Identifying, analyzing, and resolving infrastructure vulnerabilities and application deployment issues.
• Regularly reviewing existing systems and making recommendations for improvements.

Qualifications

• Degree in Computer Science or a related field
• 5+ years of experience in cloud computing using digital ocean, other platforms like AWS, VMWare, Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud Platform would be an advantage.
• Certification from VMware, Amazon Web Services (AWS), or Microsoft Azure is an added advantage
• Experience with CI/CD systems using gitRunner.
• Experienced task management tools like ClickUp or Trello to coordinate activities.
• Excellent verbal and written communication, attention to detail, and presentation skills.
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency in MS Office and Products.

• The candidate must be a resident of Lagos.
