    Chief Operating Officer

    Our client, an innovative indigenous oil and gas company established after the sector\'s transformation in Nigeria, is seeking a visionary Chief Operating Officer (COO) to lead its administrative operations and propel strategic growth. The COO will be responsible for overseeing staff and service administration, ensuring the seamless management of the operational team. This role demands a hands-on leader who will drive revenue growth, boost technical productivity, and deliver outstanding customer satisfaction. The COO will also build and maintain key relationships, integrating strategic plans into daily operations to ensure the company’s continued success and innovation

    ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Responsible for the execution of the Company’s quarterly and annual financial goals in line with the company’s vision, mission and core values
    • Be the driving force in identifying and developing new opportunities for the organization to sustain growth.
    • Maintain an on-going, transparent dialogue with the Director to ensure the Director is kept up to date with day to day activities.
    • Manage the Management Team to ensure that the organization meets its obligations to clients and stakeholders.
    • Develop and maintain an effective marketing and public relations strategy to promote our services to a wider market specific audience.
    • Develop annual operational plan, engaging key internal and external stakeholders. Oversee the strategic alignment and direction of various projects and programs across regions.
    • Oversee and manage company operations and Programme of work, engaging with team leads and implementing appropriate tools with which to track, monitor and evaluate projects and activity across the company.
    • Set up and manage the company financial administration, working with Finance and Account to establish appropriate processes and systems. This will include managing the operational budget on a day-to-day basis.
    • Develop and maintain research and development programmes to ensure that the company remains at the forefront in the industry, applies the most cost effective methods and approaches, provides a leading edge, unique service which ensures the company remains competitive
    • Directly involved in managing job cost analysis on all projects to ensure consistent profitability on all jobs, and to identify and make improvements where needed
    • Directly involved in achieving high customer satisfaction on all projects from pre-award through the end of warranty to help achieve Company goals as measured by Customer Experience surveys.
    • Review of the Company’s current Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to effectively manage the organization\'s delivery activities and its projected growth.
    • Maintain a safe workspace by enforcing standards and procedures and keeping compliance with legal regulations
    • Keep abreast of industry news and market forces that may have both an adverse or positive influence on the organization.
    • Ensure that the appropriate structures, systems and processes are in place to keep the organization abreast of industry policy, legislative changes/impact
    • Perform other activates assigned by the Director. 

    Qualifications/Requirement

    • Bachelor’s degree in any discipline (Master’s in Business Administration is a plus).
    • Relevant professional certifications are an added advantage.
    • A minimum of 10 years of relevant experience, with at least 5 years in senior management.
    • Proven ability to set strategic direction and develop actionable business plans.
    • Strong experience in target-driven environments, managing senior teams, and overseeing financial operations with strong analytical skills.
    • Ability to provide sound analytical reasoning in operational and strategic financial matters.
    • Proven track record of building and maintaining a robust business development network.
    • Capacity to inspire creativity and innovation within the organization.
    • Excellent communication and presentation skills, both written and verbal.
    • Strong leadership with the ability to make critical decisions and influence outcomes.
    • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse ethnic, cultural, and social backgrounds, as well as varying ages and beliefs.
    • Ability to multitask, manage complex responsibilities, and consistently deliver excellence.
