    Chef

    Job Summary

    • The Chef will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of food preparation, kitchen operations, and culinary quality.
    • This role requires a deep understanding of Nigerian cuisine, strong leadership skills, strict adherence to food safety and hygiene standards, and the ability to manage both daily kitchen workflows and recipe consistency across high-volume service periods.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Plan, prepare, and cook authentic Nigerian dishes according to established recipes and quality standards
    • Maintain consistency in taste, presentation, and portion control across all menu items
    • Supervise and coordinate kitchen staff, including cooks, kitchen assistants, and cleaners
    • Ensure strict compliance with food safety, sanitation, and hygiene regulations (including NAFDAC and SON guidelines where applicable)
    • Manage inventory, conduct daily stock checks, and minimize food waste
    • Source and vet quality local ingredients in collaboration with suppliers
    • Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient kitchen environment
    • Handle equipment maintenance and promptly report any malfunctions

    Qualifications & Requirements

    • Minimum of 3 years of professional cooking experience, preferably in a high-volume Nigerian kitchen or local restaurant
    • Formal culinary training (certificate or diploma) is an advantage but not mandatory—demonstrable skill and portfolio are highly valued
    • Strong knowledge of traditional Nigerian dishes (e.g., stews, soups, rice dishes, snacks) and cooking techniques
    • Experience managing a small kitchen team
    • Knowledge of food safety and hygiene best practices (HACCP principles a plus)
    • Passion for Nigerian cuisine and commitment to preserving its authenticity
    • Physically fit to stand for long periods and work in a hot kitchen environment
    • Excellent communication and time-management skills

    Compensation & Benefits

    • Basic Pay: N100,000 Monthly + Bonus
