Job Summary
The CCTV Operator will be responsible for the effective installation, operation, and monitoring of CCTV systems, ensuring the security of all monitored locations and equipment. This role requires technical expertise in setting up CCTV equipment, including cameras and Network Video Recorders (NVRs). The CCTV Operator will oversee surveillance activities within the Control Centre, monitoring all cameras in accordance with best practices and established procedures. The ideal candidate will possess a wealth of experience and technical knowledge in the field, enabling them to effectively manage the deployment of surveillance equipment across various locations. Given the complexity and critical nature of this role, the selected individual may be positioned above other staff members within the CCTV unit, reflecting their expertise and ability to deliver on expectations. Key responsibilities include recording all incidents, events, and actions in a clear and accurate written format, safeguarding recorded data per regulatory requirements, and ensuring control room security is maintained. The CCTV Operator is also responsible for promptly reporting any equipment malfunctions to the Head of IT and delivering efficient and courteous responses to inquiries via telephone, maintaining professionalism in all interactions.
