The State Ministry of Health (SMOH) and the Implementing partners require the services of Trainers to build the capacity of the scaled-up States on the Quality of Care strategy and services in their States in order to improve the quality of care and health outcomes for women, newborns, and children in Nigeria.
Responsibilities
Build the capacity of 20 nominated staff from each of the six states (SMOH, SPHCDA, PRS, hospital management board, LGA staff, Professional association representatives, IPs working on MNCH in the State etc.) on QoC principles, establishment of State QoC TWG, support for establishment/strengthening of QI teams at health facility level, etc and submit a detailed report upon completion
Support the state to conduct a baseline assessment in Health facilities on the level of implementation of Quality of care in Service delivery, Human resources, Commodity and Supplies, Infrastructure and Equipment, to identify quality and performance gaps, services to be improved using the checklist
Visit the Existing States to strengthen their RMNCAEH+N QoC activities
Review of data collection tools, registers and worksheet and health information systems to ensure that QoC activities are documented and write and submit a detailed report
Support the annual assessments of learning sites/states (as included in national QoC annual operational plan) to ascertain progress made in the implementation of RMNCH QoC operational plan at state level and course correct as appropriate with submission of a detailed report

Required Qualifications
A First Degree, and a Masters / PhD is an added advantage. (Preferably not less than 8 years) / Medical degree (MBBS, Nursing / Midwifery, Pharmacy, Public Health necessary for medical related consultancies)
Post-graduate degree in Obstetrics and Gynecology
Professional certification in related field is an added advantage
Publications in maternal and newborn health, especially the niche of RMNCH Quality of Care
8 to 12 years working experience in related field
Extensive consultancy experience with local and international organizations of at least 7 years
Previous experience working with the Federal and State Ministry of Health stakeholders
Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work under pressure and collaboratively in a team
Good knowledge of MS Office packages etc
