    Business Development Lead

    Job Summary

    • The Business Development Lead at Detail and Avedia will be responsible for driving strategic business growth, expanding the agency’s client portfolio, and leading revenue-generating initiatives across the company.
    • This role requires a commercially minded and results-oriented professional with strong leadership, relationship management, and strategic thinking skills.
    • The ideal candidate will lead the company’s business development efforts by identifying new market opportunities, building strategic partnerships, strengthening client relationships, and overseeing acquisition strategies that support the agency’s long-term growth objectives.
    • As a key member of the commercial team, the Business Development Lead will work closely with leadership, marketing, strategy, and creative teams to position the agency competitively within the branding, media, and digital marketing industry.

    Key Responsibilities
    Business Growth & Revenue Development:

    • Develop and execute business development strategies that support the agency’s revenue and expansion goals.
    • Identify and pursue new business opportunities across media, branding, marketing, and digital industries.
    • Drive consistent revenue growth through strategic client acquisition and partnership development.
    • Build and maintain a strong pipeline of qualified leads and business opportunities.
    • Develop strategies for securing long-term retainers and recurring business opportunities.
    • Monitor commercial performance and recommend improvements to drive profitability and growth.

    Client Acquisition & Relationship Management:

    • Lead the end-to-end client acquisition process from prospecting to conversion.
    • Build and maintain strong relationships with prospective and existing clients.
    • Conduct high-level sales meetings, presentations, negotiations, and proposal discussions.
    • Understand client business needs and develop tailored solutions that align with agency offerings.
    • Ensure a smooth onboarding experience for newly acquired clients.
    • Maintain strong client engagement and retention strategies to encourage long-term partnerships.

    Leadership & Team Management:

    • Lead and supervise the Client Acquisition team to ensure alignment with business goals and targets.
    • Set clear KPIs, expectations, and performance objectives for team members.
    • Provide mentorship, coaching, and support to improve team productivity and conversion performance.
    • Conduct regular pipeline reviews, strategy sessions, and performance evaluations.
    • Foster a collaborative, accountable, and high-performing work culture.

    Strategic Partnerships & Market Positioning:

    • Identify opportunities for partnerships, collaborations, and strategic alliances that increase business visibility and growth.
    • Represent the agency at networking events, client meetings, industry engagements, and business forums.
    • Conduct market research and competitor analysis to identify trends, gaps, and emerging opportunities.
    • Provide commercial insights and strategic recommendations to leadership.
    • Support initiatives that strengthen the agency’s market presence and brand positioning.

    Proposal Development & Commercial Strategy:

    • Oversee the development of proposals, pitch decks, contracts, and business presentations.
    • Lead pricing discussions and negotiations while ensuring value and profitability.
    • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure client solutions are aligned with business objectives and capabilities.
    • Support the development of client acquisition campaigns and lead generation initiatives.

    Reporting & Performance Tracking:

    • Monitor and report on acquisition performance, revenue growth, lead conversion, and pipeline activities.
    • Maintain accurate records of business development activities using CRM systems and reporting tools.
    • Prepare weekly and monthly business development reports for leadership review.
    • Analyze performance data and market insights to improve acquisition and conversion strategies.

    Requirements

    • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business Administration, Communications, or a related field.
    • 4–6 years of experience in Business Development, Sales, Client Acquisition, or Commercial Strategy.
    • Previous experience within an agency, media, branding, marketing, or digital industry is highly preferred.
    • Proven track record of achieving revenue and business growth targets.
    • Strong communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
    • Experience managing teams and overseeing business development operations.
    • Strong understanding of sales pipelines, client acquisition strategies, and commercial growth.
    • Proficiency in CRM tools, reporting systems, and digital communication platforms.
    • Strong analytical, strategic thinking, and problem-solving abilities.
    • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, target-driven environment.

    Preferred Skills:

    • Experience leading business development teams within an agency environment.
    • Strong professional network within media, marketing, branding, or corporate sectors.
    • Knowledge of digital marketing, branding, and integrated marketing communications.
    • Experience managing high-value client relationships and partnerships.
    • Ability to develop and execute data-driven commercial strategies.
