    Business Analyst – Lubricant Manufacturing and Sales

    Responsibilities

    • The ideal candidate will (but is not limited to):
    • Analyze lubricant blending operations including base oil and additive dosing accuracy, yield loss, rework, downtime, and changeover losses.
    • Monitor packaging line performance (drums, pails, bottles, IBCs) for speed, rejection rates, losses, and efficiency.
    • Track and analyze plant KPIs such as:
    • OEE
    • Cost per MT / KL
    • Energy and utility consumption
    • Production plan vs actual adherence
    • Identify root causes of inefficiencies using process mapping, variance analysis, and trend analysis
    • Analyze procurement data for base oils (Group I, II, III), additives, and packaging materials.
    • Track supplier performance on pricing, lead times, quality, and MOQ constraints.
    • Monitor inventory KPIs including:
    • Inventory turnover
    • Aging and slow-moving stock
    • Safety stock levels
    • Working capital impact
    • Evaluate logistics and warehouse costs and efficiency.
    • Analyze lubricant sales across automotive, industrial, marine, and specialty segments.
    • Conduct product-wise, customer-wise, and channel-wise profitability analysis.
    • Identify revenue leakage due to pricing, discounts, rebates, credit terms, and fulfillment gaps.
    • Support pricing and margin decisions based on raw material cost movements and market trends.
    • Collate and reconcile data from multiple sources including:
    • ERP systems
    • CRM platforms
    • Production and plant-level tools
    • Sales and distribution systems
    • Ensure data accuracy, consistency, and validation across sources.
    • Automate recurring reports and MIS using Excel and BI tools.
    • Build and maintain dashboards using:
    • Advanced Excel (Power Query, Power Pivot, complex formulas, VBA preferred)
    • Power BI or similar visualization tools
    • Develop dashboards covering:
    • Production performance
    • Inventory & procurement
    • Sales, margins, and profitability
    • Enable leadership and functional teams to track performance through clear, actionable insights.
    • Identify efficiency gaps and cost leakages across operations and sales.
    • Build data-backed business cases for:
    • Cost reduction
    • Process improvement
    • Margin optimization
    • Track improvement initiatives and measure benefit realization.

    Requirement

    • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business Analytics, Supply Chain, Finance, or related field.
    • MBA, Lean, or Six Sigma certification is an advantage.
    • 5–10 years of experience in:
    • Manufacturing analytics
    • Lubricant industry, FMCG manufacturing, or process industry (preferred)
    • Required Competencies:
    • Strong hands-on experience with Microsoft Excel & Advanced Excel
    • Pivot tables, Power Query, Power Pivot
    • Complex formulas and automation
    • Experience working with ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, Odoo, Dynamics, or similar).
    • Ability to collate and analyze data from multiple operational systems.
    • SQL for data extraction, validation, and analysis
    • Experience with Power BI or other visualization tools
    • Data-driven and problem-solving mindset
    • Proactive and improvement-oriented
    • Strong ownership and accountability
    • Comfortable working with both plant teams and commercial teams.
    • Exposure to CRM systems used in B2B or distributor-led sales environments
