This is a full-time, on-site Branch Manager role based in Obubra, with close collaboration with teams in Calabar and other locations.
The Branch Manager will oversee day-to-day branch operations, including deposit mobilization, loan processing and effective portfolio and risk management.
The role will lead branch staff in achieving performance targets, and ensure excellent customer service for microfinance clients and small businesses.
The Branch Manager will monitor branch financial performance, drive growth in accounts and loan portfolios, and ensure full compliance with banking regulations, internal policies, and audit requirements.
The position also involves community engagement, market outreach, and building strong relationships with customers, local businesses, and community organizations to grow the branch’s presence and impact.
Qualifications
Proven experience in branch management, microfinance operations, or retail banking, with a strong track record in portfolio growth and quality.
Sound knowledge of microfinance products, credit analysis, loan recovery, and risk management practices.
Strong leadership, team management, and people development skills, with the ability to motivate and guide diverse teams.
Excellent customer service, relationship management, and community engagement skills, especially with small businesses and low-income clients.
Solid analytical, numerical, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret financial reports and make data-informed decisions.
Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to handle multiple priorities and meet targets under pressure.
High level of integrity, ethical standards, and commitment to responsible lending and financial inclusion.
Proficiency in basic banking software, MS Office tools, and comfort with digital banking channels.
Bachelor’s degree in Banking & Finance, Economics, Business Administration, Accounting, or a related field; relevant professional certifications are an advantage.
Prior experience working in microfinance or community-based financial services within the region is highly desirable.
