    Stores & Production Materials Controller

    Location: Badore Boatyard / Naval Dockyard, Victoria Island

    Caverton Marine is seeking a Stores & Production Materials Controller to ensure that the right materials are available, approved, traceable and ready for production when required.

    This role goes beyond conventional stores administration. It is the operational link between:

    • Production Planning → Procurement → Stores → Material Issuance → Production Consumption Key Responsibilities
    • Receive, verify and document incoming materials, components and equipment.
    • Maintain accurate inventory records, stock locations and material traceability.
    • Coordinate QC release of controlled materials before production use.
    • Review production schedules and identify upcoming material requirements.
    • Assess work packages as READY, PARTIALLY READY or NOT READY based on material availability.
    • Maintain and escalate critical-material and shortage registers.
    • Issue materials only against authorised vessels, work orders or production requirements.
    • Track material consumption, returns, wastage and variances.
    • Compare planned material requirements against actual production consumption.
    • Monitor stock levels, reorder thresholds, supplier lead times and outstanding orders.
    • Ensure appropriate storage and HSE controls for GRP chemicals, coatings, timber, electrical equipment, batteries, engines and other materials.
    • Maintain stores in a secure, organised and audit-ready condition.
    • Authority
    • The Materials Controller may refuse unauthorised stock withdrawals, hold damaged or unreleased materials, prevent controlled materials from entering production without QC release, initiate approved reorder actions and escalate production-critical shortages.

    Who We're Looking For

    • Degree/HND in Supply Chain, Logistics, Procurement, Business Administration. Inventory Management, Operations or related discipline.
    • 2-5 years' experience in stores, warehouse or inventory operations.
    • Experience in boatbuilding, shipbuilding, manufacturing, marine or industrial environments is strongly preferred.
    • Experience managing production materials, components and consumables.
    • Proficiency with ERP/inventory systems and Microsoft Excel.
    • Strong numerical accuracy, documentation and organisational skills.
    • Ability to work effectively across Production, Procurement and Quality.
    • High integrity and accountability in handling valuable stock and equipment.
