Head, Operations at a Financial Institution

Job Summary

We seek the services of an experienced professional to work with us as Head, Operations.The Head, Operations will provide strategic and operational leadership and oversee the Bank's day-to-day operations, ensuring efficient service delivery, effective internal controls, operational risk management, process improvement, and compliance with regulatory and internal requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement strategies to improve the Bank's operational efficiency and service delivery.
• Oversee branch operations, account operations, transaction processing, and other core banking operations.
• Ensure compliance with approved operational policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
• Strengthen internal controls and ensure the timely resolution of operational exceptions and issues.
• Monitor and manage operational risks and implement appropriate mitigation measures.
• Drive process improvement, automation, and operational efficiency initiatives.
• Ensure accurate and timely processing of customer transactions and operational activities.
• Work closely with relevant departments to improve customer experience and service delivery.
• Prepare and present periodic operational performance reports to Executive Management.
• Liaise with regulators, service providers, and other relevant stakeholders on operational matters.
• Lead, supervise, and develop the Operations team.

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Banking and Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Economics, or a related field.
• Relevant professional qualification is an added advantage.
• Master's degree is an added advantage.
• Minimum of 7 years' relevant experience, including experience in a senior or managerial role.
• Strong experience in banking operations, preferably within a Microfinance Bank or other regulated financial institution.
• Proven experience in branch operations, transaction processing, internal controls, operational risk management, and regulatory compliance.
