    Duties

    • Incumbent performs repairs of light, heavy, and armored gasoline and diesel powered motor vehicles and fork lifts.
    • Examines vehicles to determine how to rehabilitate and rebuild damaged vehicular parts and carries out needed repairs.
    • Responsible for knowing and adhering to shop safety procedures. Supervises the Auto Body Fender worker and Auto Painter.

    Qualifications and Evaluations
    Education Requirements:

    • Completion of primary school with vocational training in automotive mechanic work is required.

    Experience: 

    • Nine (9) years of progressively responsible auto mechanic's experience, mainly in the area of auto body rehabilitation and repairs is required.

    Job Knowledge: 

    • Excellent skills in diagnosing and repair of all aspects of body work and general welding work.

    Evaluations:

    • This may be tested. Please specify your level of proficiency in the language listed.

    Language:

    • Good working knowledge in speaking / reading / writing of English is required.

    Skills and Abilities: 

    • Must possess a valid Nigeria's drivers license to operate light vehicles and trucks.
    • Must have the skills and ability to operate the wrecker and tow vehicles safely.
    • Must be able to use the techniques of welding (electric arc and gas), riveting, metal fabrication, and panel beating.
    • Must have the ability to substitute materials needed to carry out repairs.
    • Must have keyboarding/typing skills for ease of data input and communication.
    • Must be able to utilize the aid of machine for weight lifting above 30 pounds using manufacturers guide on weight lifting.
    • Must know how to use MS Office Suite and other work related software.

    Agency Benefits:

    Selection Process:

    • After the closing date for the receipt of applications, applications will initially be screened for conformity with the minimum requirements and a short list of applicants developed.  
    • Following this initial review and short listing, a Technical Evaluation Committee (TEC) will convene to review applications that meet the minimum requirements and evaluate them in accordance with the evaluation factors (1-3).
