Attend to walk-in customers and ease them through their shopping experience.
Oversee day to day operations of the store; monitor cash flow, inventory, and security controls.
Monitor daily and weekly sales; analyze reports to ensure monthly sales budget is achieved; maximize sales and profits, while minimizing controllable expenses
Curate books and other literary merchandise for readers; oversee in-store events: book signing, book club meetings and maintain a commitment to a strong presence of the brand in the Island axis
Conduct studies and research to discover new techniques necessary for improving customer experience, train the team and implement best practices to engage walk-in customers.
Develop metrics to measure customer satisfaction and collect same, embed into the performance management of team members, provide feedback and report performance to the leadership team.
Provide market feedback to the leadership team regarding competitive offerings based on insights gleaned from interacting with walk-in customers.
Generating product development ideas to boost in-store sales and support development and marketing of in-store literary events.
Qualifications
Avid reader/deep passion for books
2-3years experience
Proximity to Victoria Island, Lagos
Knowledge of bookstore retail operating principles, cashiering, budgeting, management principles, and inventory
Should possess strong multi-tasking skills, excellent oral communication skills and the ability to perform consistently, even under pressure.
