    Admin/Accountant

    Responsibilities

    The ideal candidate will (but not limited to):

    • Financial Record-Keeping: Maintain accurate financial records, including accounts payable and receivable, expenses, and revenues, using accounting software or spreadsheets.
    • Payroll Processing: Manage payroll processes, including calculating wages, processing payroll transactions, and ensuring compliance with tax regulations and payroll laws.
    • Budget Management: Assist in budget preparation, monitoring, and variance analysis to ensure alignment with organizational objectives and financial goals.
    • Financial Reporting: Prepare and analyze financial reports, such as income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements, to provide insights into financial performance and inform decision-making processes.
    • Accounts Payable and Receivable: Process invoices, payments, and receipts, reconcile accounts and follow up on outstanding payments to maintain positive relationships with vendors and clients.
    • Expense Management: Monitor and analyze expenses, review expense reports, and identify cost-saving opportunities to optimize financial resources and control expenses.
    • Financial Analysis: Conduct financial analysis and forecasting, including ratio analysis, trend analysis, and variance analysis, to assess financial health, identify trends, and support strategic planning.
    • Tax Compliance: Assist in tax preparation and compliance activities, including gathering tax-related documents, preparing tax returns, and liaising with tax authorities to ensure compliance with tax regulations.
    • Audit Support: Provide support during internal and external audits, including preparing audit schedules, responding to audit inquiries, and ensuring compliance with audit requirements.
    • Process Improvement: Identify inefficiencies in financial processes and recommend process improvements, automation opportunities, and best practices to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
    • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with financial regulations, accounting standards, and internal policies and procedures, and implement controls to mitigate risks and ensure accuracy in financial reporting.
    • Vendor Management: Manage relationships with vendors, negotiate contracts, and oversee vendor payments to ensure timely and accurate processing of invoices and adherence to contractual agreements.
    • Asset Management: Maintain fixed asset registers, track asset acquisitions and disposals, and calculate depreciation expenses to accurately reflect the organization's asset holdings and financial position.
    • Cash Management: Monitor cash flows, manage bank accounts, and reconcile bank statements to ensure adequate liquidity and optimize cash management practices.

    Requirement

    • A graduate in Accountancy, Economics, Business Administration, Business Management or a related field.
    • Minimum of 2-5 years experience in an Admin/Account Officer role.
    • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP) and Microsoft Excel for financial analysis, reporting, and data management.

    Required Competencies

    • Proficiency in accounting principles, practices, and procedures to accurately record financial transactions and prepare financial statements.
    •  Ability to analyze financial data, interpret financial statements and conduct financial analysis to assess financial health and performance.
    • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in financial record-keeping, data entry, and reporting to ensure the integrity of financial information.
    • Strong analytical skills to identify trends, patterns, and discrepancies in financial data and provide insights to support decision-making processes.
    • Effective organizational skills to manage multiple tasks, prioritize responsibilities, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
    • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to communicate financial information clearly and effectively with colleagues and stakeholders.
    • Ability to identify problems, analyze root causes, and develop solutions to address financial challenges and optimize financial processes.
