    Accountant

    Reports To: Bakery Manager / General Manager

    As we continue to grow, we are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Bakery Accountant to manage our financial processes and ensure smooth business operations.

    Role Overview

    The Bakery Accountant will oversee the financial health of Mosun Café Bakery by managing daily accounting tasks, supporting cost control, tracking inventory, and ensuring accurate financial reporting. This role is essential for supporting business decisions, maintaining profitability, and ensuring compliance with financial standards.

    Key Responsibilities

    1. Financial Record-Keeping & Reporting
      1. Maintain accurate daily, weekly, and monthly financial records.
      2. Prepare financial statements, management reports, and cashflow summaries.
      3. Reconcile bank accounts, POS systems, supplier statements, and cash registers.
      4. Manage accounts payable and receivable, ensuring timely invoicing and payments.
    2. Bakery Costing & Budgeting
      1. Track and analyse ingredient and production costs, including flour, sugar, dairy, packaging, and other materials.
      2. Prepare product costings and support pricing decisions to maintain profit margins.
      3. Monitor wastage, shrinkage, and production efficiency.
      4. Assist in preparing annual budgets and forecasting revenue and expenses.
    3. Inventory & Stock Control
      1. Work closely with kitchen and procurement staff to track stock levels.
      2. Conduct regular stock counts and investigate discrepancies.
      3. Support the implementation of strong inventory controls to reduce waste and costs.
    4. Compliance & Audit
      1. Ensure compliance with local tax regulations, payroll requirements, and financial reporting standards.
      2. Prepare documentation for internal and external audits.
      3. Maintain proper documentation for all financial activities.
    5. Operational Support
      1. Collaborate with the bakery manager to analyse sales trends and improve financial performance.
      2. Provide insights to improve profitability and reduce unnecessary expenses.
      3. Support payroll processing and staff expense management.

    Skills & Qualifications

    Essential

    • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
    • 1–3 years of accounting experience (experience in F&B or retail is an advantage).
    • Strong knowledge of accounting principles and bookkeeping tools.
    • Proficiency in MS Excel and accounting software.
    • Excellent attention to detail and strong analytical skills.
    • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.

    Desirable

    • Experience with cost accounting, inventory systems, or POS integration.
    • Knowledge of bakery or food production costing.
    • Professional qualifications such as ACA, ACCA, or equivalent (optional).
