    University Librarian

    Duties

    • The University Librarian is a Principal Officer of the University responsible to the Vice-Chancellor for the day-to-day administration of the University Library and coordination of all Library services, its Colleges, Faculties, Schools, Institutes, Centres and other teaching and research Units.
    • The successful Candidate will be expected to provide requisite administrative and academic leadership.

    Qualifications and Experience

    • The right Candidate for the job must possess a good honours degree in Library/Information Science from a recognized university, with at least, fourteen (14) years relevant post-qualification experience, preferably in a university.
    • The preferred Candidate must show verifiable evidence of substantial contribution to knowledge through research and scholarly publications in reputable journals within and outside Nigeria.
    • In addition, the Candidate should be proficient in management and administrative procedures. The Candidate should be able to initiate high impact research and be knowledgeable in the application of computer software and modern Library operations/services, especially the e-Library platform.
    • The Candidate must be a registered member of the Library Registration Council of Nigeria (LRCN) among other relevant professional associations.

    Conditions of Service-UASS7

    • The conditions attached to the position are as generally applicable in the Nigeria University System and as may, from time to time, be determined by the University Governing Council.
    • The appointment shall be for a single term of five (5) years.
