Job Description

• The Communications Volunteer will support the communications team across a variety of areas of communications including digital, social media design and content.

Job Responsibilities

• Working as part of our communications team and supporting staffs in delivering communications.
• Support the communications team with materials for our social media platforms and assist with updating information.
• Assist in monitoring social media activities and expand online network.
• Helping to generate content for SHIFT Nigeria social media channels.
• Supporting campaigns, marketing, events and fundraising activities.
• Assist in compiling and editing e-newsletters.

Job Requirements

• Interest in the field of communications and knowledge of different communications channels.
• Familiarity with and enthusiasm for using digital communications platforms in a professional manner, and confidence handling digital files.
• Experience of working or volunteering in communications or administration position.
• Interest in working in a not-for-profit environment
• Interest in politics and current affairs.

Skills:

• Excellent verbal and written English, with strong interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work as part of a team as well as independently.
• Computer literate with the ability to learn different digital tools and platforms.
• Strong organisational skills including developing and maintaining administrative systems.
• Ability to meet deadlines, problem-solve, prioritize tasks and work well under pressure.
• Accuracy and attention to detail.
