• Technician level 2 performs all of the duties of a Technician level 1.

Job Description

• Able to work with little supervision
• Understand the proper usage of basic hand and power tools.
• Mastery of the color code
• Able to decipher fiber optic cable types (single-mode/multimode
• Able to properly strip and enter a fiber optic cable.
• Can perform bare-end fiber testing
• Can perform proper grounding and bonding
• Familiarity Corning splice cases.
• Able to build a splice case, dress and splice fiber optic cables
• Proficient with single and ribbon fiber splicing
• Able to ribbonize a fiber bundle
• Able to test fibers using OTDR and Power meter/light source
• Able to examine and explain test data
• Can install single fusion splice on connectors
• Able to work independently
• Familiar with CTL prints and terminology
• Basic troubleshooting skills
• Able to proficiently prepare and complete daily production sheets
• Perform minor case audits
• Take notes & update paperwork as needed.
