Lagos is the economic capital of Nigeria, which means that more economic activities happen in Lagos more than in other states. This means that schools owners can easily monetize their services without the fear of not making a profit, and teachers on the other hand can build a lucrative career when they land a teaching job in Lagos.
There are more public and private schools in Lagos than in other states in Nigeria. Currently, there are over 18, 000 private schools in Lagos and more than 1800 public schools in Lagos. This means that there are more teaching jobs opportunities in Lagos than in other states.
There is a high level of competition for school owners to fairly compensate teachers. Teaching jobs in Lagos are usually more lucrative in Lagos than in other states because qualified teachers have more job options that put school owners on their feet.
Edutech is more popular in Lagos. Education technology is gradually overtaking the traditional classroom settings, especially for secondary schools. Most educational technology platforms that are making profits and at the same time providing a flexible working schedule for teachers are mostly in Lagos.
Most of these education technology platforms provide a more convenient teaching method for smart but busy teachers. This means that they can have more than one job, as they are not required to be in the four walls of a classroom. They only teach at specific times and have extra time to work in other schools or do other things.
