    Consumer Marketing Manager

    Job Description

    • The Consumer Marketing Manager reports into the VP marketing and is responsible for managing all Consumer Brand Marketing, Marketing Communication, Trade and Retail presence.
    • These include but not limited to (creative development and execution, Advertising, manages relationship with APCON and marketing regulatory agencies, liaison with Sales team (Director or RMs for sales support activities).

    Job Summary

    • Responsible for developing and executing annual, mid, and long-term brand plans to achieve aggressive growth targets for Lumos Nigeria
    • Primary liaison with marketing counterparts across Lumos Global

    Functional accountability for:

    • Advertising, Consumer Education and Promotions
    • Market/Consumer Research
    • Customer engagement and communications
    • Brand events
    • Trade presence, visibility and retail execution
    • Product Management
    • Digital Marketing

    Job Responsibilities

    • Develop and execute integrated marketing campaigns to deliver brand awareness, growth, relevance, preference and growth
    • Analyze market/consumer and usage data for insights and articulate brand issues and opportunities.
    • Deliver, measure and evaluate activities that win in the market to optimize performance and marketing spend effectiveness.
    • Implement winning activity plans which delivers on brand growth objectives across traditional and new media
    • Develop in-store marketing initiatives and recommendation of consumer and trade promotions.
    • Manage internal brand communications to ensure visibility of all key brand marketing activities to staff across the business
    • Assist VP marketing in the development, management, and implementation of strategic projects and interventions, and drive alignment across functional teams and external partners
    • Be the brand custodian and own brand positioning and market positioning to meet Recruitment, Frequency and Retention needs

    Educational Qualifications & Functional / Technical Skills

    • First degree in Business, Marketing, Communication or related field
    • MBA or Masters in Marketing desirable

    Relevant Experience:

    • 4-8 years’ experience in brand management with knowledge of trade marketing, consumer marketing, research and product development, segmentation and propositions in the FMCG or telecommunications sector
    • Advertising Development and management
    • Media planning and execution
    • Agency experience (ATL) will be an added advantage
    • Agency experience will be an added advantage (Creative/ATL)
    • Ability to manage long and short-term priorities
    • Ability to balance long range and short-term planning and initiatives for the brand

    Other Requirements (Behavioral Etc.):

    • Good communication and presentation skills
    • Good experience in brand planning process
    • Commercial acumen, confident, enthusiastic and persuasive.
    • Convincing personality, good planner, self-starter and committed to results.

    Corporate Communications Manager

    Job Description

    • Role holder will report to the VP Marketing and be responsible for Corporate Communication (internal and external), and building the right relationships with stakeholders including communities, regulators and influencers.

    Financial & Stewardship:

    • Accountable and responsible for managing functional budget as outlined below
    • Periodic reporting on functional activities in line with overall Marketing and Communications business plan
    • Financial stewardship: ensuring value for money relationships across relevant 3rd parties and partners.
    • Succession planning and ensuring a business continuity pipeline for the role.

    Internal Communications:

    • Working with HR, design and execute an engaging internal communications programme for Lumos Nigeria
    • Serve as primary liaison with HR on all staff communications and engagements

    Public Relations And Communications:

    • Design, implement and manage Lumos Nigeria’s communication strategy ensuring that all stakeholders are informed and have access to the right information at all times (online and offline)
    • Develop and effectively execute a strategy for proactively cultivating positive corporate relationships with the media
    • Develop annual PR and Corporate Communication plans an execute OTIF
    • Develop appropriate response to “crisis situations” that portend negative media exposure for the company
    • Build and manage strategic relationships with media partners and influencers:
      • Ensure positive reportage across online and offline media platforms
      • Seed brand stories, milestones and successes across relevant platforms
      • Drive thought leadership for Lumos Nigeria in discourse on energy, renewable energy and the power sector in Nigeria
      • Use PR to drive brand leadership
      • Develop press releases, analyses, and feature articles to communicate Lumos Nigeria’s milestones, product launches, event coverage, CSR engagements and new developments, among others.

    Community And Grassroot Engagement:

    • Design and implement a community outreach programme to educate/enlighten potential consumers on the Lumos brand and the benefits of the products:
      • Townhall meetings and liaison with opinion leaders
      • Trade groups and associations
      • Market and opinion leaders during market days

    Corporate Social Responsibility/Investment:

    • Define and craft a strategic CSR roadmap for Lumos Nigeria aligning brand philosophy and growth aspirations to CSR interventions
    • Execute said CSR roadmap for Nigeria focusing on key clusters and cities
    • Ensue scalability and sustainability for all CSR interventions with footprint across current and future growth-driving cities
    • Ensure effective M&E of all CSE investments

    Educational Qualifications & Functional / Technical Skills

    • First degree in Humanities or Communication
    • Membership of NIPR, CIM, CIPR, NIMN or related bodies is mandatory

    Relevant Experience:

    • 6-10 years cognate experience with a minimum of 5 years at senior levels across:
      • Public Relations, Media Relations and Reputation Management
      • Formulation and execution competence across – strategy and planning
    • Experienced in formulation and execution competence across – strategy and planning
    • Proven competence in Public Relations, Media Relations Management, engaging with and managing key regulatory relationships
    • Proven ability to manage primary and complex media and (print and electronic) relationships
    • Ability to manage self and manager and groom interns and future manager
    • Ability to effectively manage 3rd party agencies and partners to deliver on commitments on time, to plan and within or under budget
    • Passionate driven self-starter

    Other Requirements (Behavioral Etc.):

    • High degree of professionalism and maturity
    • Ability to deal with ambiguity, tight timelines, multiple priorities, and demanding customers, in a fast-moving, constantly changing environment
    • Ability to build strong working relationships, internal and external to the organization
    • High level of discretion and attention to detail
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
