    Technical Sales Representative (Wireline Products) SSA

    JOB DESCRIPTION

    • Weatherford is seeking a highly motivated, experienced Technical Sales Representative for our Wireline Products division to be based in Lagos, Nigeria, with responsibility for the entire Sub-Saharan Africa region. This role is responsible for delivering the annual revenue target agreed jointly by the Geozone Technical Sales Manager and the Geozone Sales Director or Area Sales Manager. The Wireline Products Technical Sales Representative will build on a very high level of Wireline/Slickline product line and operational knowledge to proactively and strategically sell specific tools and technologies.

    Responsibilities
    Sales & Business Development

    • Implement sales strategies to promote Weatherford's Wireline Products technologies across Sub-Saharan Africa.
    • Build and maintain strong relationships with existing clients while actively identifying and pursuing new business opportunities.
    • Deliver accurate revenue and margin forecasts based on operational activity and customer expenditure plans.
    • Achieve or exceed assigned sales targets and business development objectives.
    • Take relevant actions to identify and address revenue 'gaps' to ensure target achievement.

    Technical & Client Engagement

    • Conduct technical presentations and demonstrations of Weatherford's wireline and slickline technologies to clients.
    • Prepare detailed technical and commercial proposals using Xait-Porter, including initial pricing strategies that maximize value.
    • Oversee the tender development and response process, ensuring all resources are available for high-quality submissions.
    • Develop specific client application value propositions.
    • Understand customer needs and ensure products and services are marketed, positioned, and understood by key decision makers.
    • Respond to the Client Engagement Plan to enhance company profitability through provision of products and services.

    Collaboration & Communication

    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including operations, engineering, and marketing to develop customized solutions.
    • Liaise with Commercial Operations to ensure efficient tender management including negotiations.
    • Work with Account Managers to ensure effective delivery of all sales processes and customer engagement opportunities.
    • Relay competitive information back to appropriate Product Line stakeholders (pricing, product performance, marketing material, etc).
    • Maintain effective communications with all key stakeholders both internal and external.

    Market Intelligence & Strategy

    • Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and industry developments across the region.
    • Assemble and disseminate market intelligence.
    • Submit technical abstracts or articles to industry publications and/or Weatherford intercompany magazine.
    • Represent Weatherford at industry conferences, trade shows, and networking events.

    Safety, Security & Compliance

    • Be fully versed in GEMS (Get Everyone Managing Safety) and able to explain Weatherford's commitment to operating safely.
    • Maintain the highest standards of corporate governance and compliance with Company policies.
    • Place Quality, Health & Safety, Security, and protection of the Environment as core values.
    • Ensure all service quality incidents are communicated from the Customer back to Weatherford.

    Qualifications Required

    • Bachelor's degree in petroleum engineering, geosciences, or related technical field (if no degree, minimum 8 years industry experience).
    • Minimum 5 years of wireline/slickline technical experience in a combination of field and onshore technical support roles.
    • Minimum 3 years in a product sales or services sales role on top of field experience.
    • Demonstrated understanding of wireline and slickline technologies, applications, and services.
    • Proven track record in technical sales within the energy sector.
    • Strong knowledge of Sub-Saharan Africa oil and gas markets, particularly in Nigeria, Angola, Congo, and other key producing countries.
    • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
    • High Proficiency in English (written and verbal).
    • Valid passport and ability to travel internationally.
    • Strong negotiation and closing skills.
    • Proficiency with CRM systems (SFDC.com) and Microsoft Office suite.
    • Collaborative team player with strong technical knowledge of the Oil & Gas industry.

    Qualifications Preferred

    • 5+ years in a sales role on top of technical oilfield wireline/slickline experience.
    • Previous experience with Weatherford products or similar wireline/slickline technologies.
    • Knowledge of additional languages relevant to the region (French, Portuguese, etc).
    • Experience living or working in multiple African countries.
    • Established network of contacts within regional oil and gas companies.
    • Understanding of local business practices and cultural nuances across Sub-Saharan Africa.
    • Strong wireline technical abilities and highly developed social skills.

    Travel Required

    • This role requires extensive travel throughout Sub-Saharan Africa (up to 50% travel expected), with a minimum requirement of 10-25% domestic and potential international travel.

    Manager, Technical Integration

    About the Role

    • The Global Alliance for Improved Nutrition (GAIN) is leading a multi-stakeholder consortium to implement an initiative, aiming to creating dignified and fulfilling work for Nigerian youth under 35 years across agrifood value chains. The programme specifically aims to reach and benefit young women, persons with disabilities and internally displaced persons.
    • GAIN is seeking to recruit a Technical Integration Manager to lead and ensure seamless coordination across all the technical programme components from input and production to processing, logistics, marketing, financial inclusion, gender and safeguarding, and youth innovation. This role will be offered on a two (2) year fixed term contract, subject to securing the award and availability of funding. This role will be based in Abuja, Nigeria.

    Key Responsibilities include

    • Provide strategic technical leadership to harmonize the programme’s interventions across all thematic components i.e. inputs & production, processing & manufacturing, marketing & distribution, financial inclusion, youth enterprise and gender inclusion.
    • Translate programme strategy and the Theory of Change into integrated, operational delivery frameworks across states and partners.
    • Ensure technical coherence between production systems, processing, logistics, market access, financial inclusion, and youth enterprise support.
    • Lead the development of integrated technical workplans that reflect interdependence across programme components.
    • Provide matrix oversight and technical coaching to all programme component coordinators to enhance integrated delivery.
    • Support high-level technical consortium discussions, ensuring the programme’s integrated delivery model is understood and upheld.

    About you

    • The ideal candidate should have extensive experience providing technical programme leadership integrating multisector interventions specifically in market systems, value chain development and agricultural transformation approaches. You should have deep understanding of how agricultural value chains work from farm to market.
    • Excellent technical partnership management with private sector and government actors across agricultural value chains is required.
    • Excellent project management skills are required to manage the multiple technical interventions to be implemented. You should possess strong people management skills with ability to lead and guide technical teams in field locations.
    • A bachelor’s degree in agriculture, Agricultural Economics, Agribusiness, Rural Development or a related field is required as a minimum.
