Senior Backend Developer (Node.js and Python) at Vennote Technologies Limited

This is a Hybrid contract position that requires individuals who enjoy challenges, prioritize, meet deadlines, and have a collaborative work ethic and teamwork spirit working with our team of Solution Architects, NLP Engineers, Speech Scientists, FrontEnd Developers, Business and Data Analysts, and Scrum Masters.

Responsibilities:

• Design and implement RESTful APIs endpoints using Express.js framework to facilitate secure and reliable communication between the client and the server.
• Design, develop, and maintain robust and scalable backend systems for our chatbot platform using Node.js.
• Integrate with OpenAI services using their SDKs or APIs.
• Handle the request and response flow to the AI engine, including passing the user\'s prompt and receiving the AI-generated text.
• Design and interact with the database to store conversational history, user profiles, application settings, and Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) data sources.
• Implementing real-time communication using WebSockets to provide a fluid, instant, and conversational chat experience.
• Collaborate with frontend developers, data scientists, and product managers to build a seamless user experience.
• Develop and optimize APIs for efficient data exchange between the chatbot and other systems.
• Implement and integrate natural language processing (NLP) and machine learning models into the backend infrastructure.
• Ensure the security and reliability of the chatbot backend by implementing appropriate measures.
• Develop and train machine learning models using appropriate algorithms and techniques. 
• Assess the performance of the chatbot using metrics like accuracy, precision, recall, and F1-score. 
• Fine-tune models to improve their performance and address limitations.
• Optimize backend performance and scalability to handle increasing user loads.
• Stay up to date with the latest advancements in backend technologies and chatbot development.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, or a related field.
• Proven experience in backend software development, with a strong focus on building scalable and high-performance systems.
• 7 years+ strong proficiency in Node.js and Python backend programming languages.
• Expertise in database technologies (e.g., MongoDB, SQL, NoSQL) and data modeling.
• Solid understanding of API development and integration.
• Experience with Azure cloud platform
• Knowledge of NLP and machine learning concepts is a plus.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience in chatbot development or conversational AI.
• Knowledge of messaging platforms (e.g., WhatsApp, Facebook Messenger, Slack).
• Experience with containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
