Job Summary

• A PCD (Process Control Domain) IT Security Engineerisa specialized cybersecurity professional responsible for protecting the industrial networks that control physical processes, such as those found in oil refineries, power plants, and manufacturing facilities.
• This role bridges the gap between traditionalIT (Information Technology)andOT (Operational Technology).

Core Responsibilities

• Threat Prevention: Detect and respond to malware, ransomware, or unauthorized access attempts targeting industrial operations.
• Security Control Management: Implement and maintain firewalls, endpoint protection (antivirus), and intrusion detection systems specifically for PCD assets.
• System Administration: Manage user access, apply security patches, and maintain backup/disaster recovery plans for critical control systems like PLCs (Programmable Logic Controllers).
• Compliance & Risk Assessment: Perform vulnerability assessments and ensure adherence to industry standards likeNIST 800-82or company-specific protocols (e.g., Shell’s DEPs).
• Incident Response: Lead the investigation and remediation of security breaches within the production environment.

Essential Skills & Qualifications

• Education: A Bachelor's degree in Electrical/Electronics Engineering, Computer Science, or Applied Sciences is typically required.
• Experience: Most roles require 5–10 yearsof experience in IT infrastructure, with at least 3 years specifically inOT/PCD security.
• Technical Knowledge: Proficiency inindustrial control systems (ICS), network security, andSIEM (Security Information and Event Management)tools.
• Certifications: Highly valued credentials include:
