Duties

• Supervise all repairs, conversion, and spare parts specifications of all vehicles.
• Ensure that all repairs are made in accordance with the specifications and within budget.
• Manage vehicles spare parts and store requisitions in collaboration with financial and supply chain departments.
• Conduct proper inventory of all vehicles’ spare parts and consumables.
• Provide technical support and expertise on the operations vehicles and material handling equipment/vehicles.
• Inspection of operational vehicles regarding compliance on safety, environmental protection policies
• Develop and validate automobile routine maintenance documents for all vehicles.
• Provide preventive maintenance and repairs for all operational vehicles.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, and relevant Degree.
• Minimum of 5 years working experience.
• Experience in a manufacturing company is required.
• The ability to speak Ibo Language is an added advantage.

Skills:

• Proficiency in Excel and Microsoft Office products.
• Detail oriented.
• Ability to work under minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for monitoring and assessing hazardous and unsafe situations.
• Developing measures to assure personnel safety within the factory premises.
• Correct unsafe acts or conditions through the regular line of authority.
• Ensures there are safety messages in each Incident Action Plan.
• Review the Incident Action Plan for safety implications.
• Investigate accidents that have occurred within incident areas.
• Promotes safe practices at the job site and enforces safety guidelines.
• Trains and carries out drills and exercises on how to manage emergency situations.
• Conducts investigations of all accidents and near-misses.
• Conduct risk assessment and enforce preventative measures.
• Initiate and organize OHS training of employees and executives.
• Inspect premises and the work of personnel to identify issues or non-conformity (e.g. not using protective equipment).
• Stop any unsafe acts or processes that seem dangerous or unhealthy.
• Record and investigate incidents to determine causes and report findings to head of department for management decisions.
• Prepare reports on occurrences and provide statistical information to upper management.

Requirements / Skills

• A Bachelor’s Degree in a Health, Safety, or Environmental field of study
• Minimum of 5 years experience in health and safety.
• HSE Qualification
• In depth knowledge of Occupational, Safety and Health
• Proficient in all Microsoft Applications.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Good organization skills
• Good analytical skills and the ability to think critically
• The ability to speak either Ibo or Hausa Language is an added advantage.
