    Manager - Commercial FibreCo

    Mission/ Core purpose of the Job

    The Manager - Commercial FibreCo is responsible for the development of the various FibreCo costing, pricing and operating models for the Bayobab capacity and services portfolio. They will also be responsible for contributing towards the establishment and implementation of the costing and pricing principles and methodologies. The role will ensure that Bayobab improves on revenues streams by enhancing its competitive position in the wholesale business and international carrier relations business (for wholesale customers, OpCos and GEBU demand requirements) while improving its overall margins on new and existing business.

    RESPONSIBILITIES

    Key Performance Areas: Core, essential responsibilities / outputs of the position (KPA's)

    The Manager - Commercial FibreCo will be accountable to achieve the following objectives:

    • Develop the strategy for optimizing and managing costing framework for Bayobab capacity across Fibreco’s.
    • Develop and implement costing principles that will be applied to set the prices and other charges including price caps, price guidelines and other price controls for the various products
    • Carry out all necessary studies, analyses and cost calculations with the aim of minimizing the cost of international services by developing relationships with 3rd party suppliers and partners in the FibreCo markets
    • Derive the pricing principles based on market trends and market analysis for price benchmarking purposes in order to maintain relevant price books.
    • Align with the various internal teams, particularly the tax and compliance teams in order to manage issues relating to withholding taxes, transfer pricing and ensure full alignment to group policy.
    • Identify the Bayobab submarine connectivity costs and pricing by analyzing the competitive environment from a global perspective and collating inputs from the Fibreco’s on competitive offers received for international connectivity
    • Gather OpCo’s terrestrial connectivity costing inputs, with focus on the wholesale components for backhaul and last mile from the cable landing stations
    • Support in the sourcing of 3rd party connectivity when required, ensuring to meet the target price and quality requirements
    • Provide support to the product management teams on product development and pricing as relates to multi-OpCo and Fibreco infrastructure 
    • Ensure connectivity sourcing deals afford optimal benefit to Bayobab and MTN’s clients, considering price, quality, SLAs and speed of delivery

    Role Deliverables

    • Operating Model framework for Bayobab capacity and services
    • Costing and pricing strategy of wholesale fixed connectivity solutions (subsea and terrestrial)
    • Support the pricing methodologies for Fibreco’s, Opcos and External partners for all connectivity services
    • Initiate and support Initiatives to improve margins on new and existing services
    • Regular market analysis and price benchmarking in order to maintain relevant price books
    • Constant engagement with Tax and Finance to ensure full compliance on group policies

    • Bayobab Fibreco, Presales, Product, Planning, Technical and Finance teams
    • Bayobab OpCo and Group Enterprise demand management teams

    Job Requirements (Education, Experience and Competencies)

    Education:

    • Minimum 4-year Academic Degree (Commerce, BBA, Engineering or Business Science) 
    • Post graduate qualification MBA/Masters (Commerce, Engineering, Science) preferred 
    • English, French and Arabic (as advantage)

    Experience:

    • 5+ years relevant cost modelling and pricing experience in the fixed line international telecommunication industry preferably in carrier business with a good technical understanding as well.

    Competencies:

    • Able to work effectively with multiple stakeholders in a multi-cultural environment
    • Strong analytical skills to adequately anticipate demand & provide recommendations for decision making
    • A working knowledge of business practices
    • Knowledge of risk management and business development
    • Ability to identify key issues in a situation and to think creatively and strategically in facing internal and external challenges
    • Strong computer literacy (Particularly Excel / Word /PowerPoint / Visio as well as Salesforce)

    Analyst - Business Performance

    Mission:

    • To efficiently manage and coordinate performance reporting and financial analysis activities within the Fixed Broadband division, align efforts towards achieving revenue, subscriber, and non-financial KPIs.
    • Provide expertise in financial modeling, data visualization, and business performance reporting to support Fixed Broadband Sales, Fibre Development, and Customer Management in meeting their financial goals.
    • Collect, analyze, interpret, and summarize complex data in the preparation and generation of statistical and analytical reports to provide intelligence to guide Fixed Broadband in making informed decisions. 

    Description:

    • Develop and automate Fixed broadband business reports (standard reports, visualizations, and dashboards); derive business intelligence and insights from internal sources to inform better decision-making.
    • Prepare regular management and dashboard reports to provide insight into Fixed broadband KPIs, metrics, financials, non-financials, and other performance areas to support decision-making.
    • Monitor and prepare trend analysis, graphs, and variance analysis to support the development of strategies and initiatives that deliver on organizational objectives.
    • Propose process efficiencies for data analysis, content, consistency, and intelligence to maximize display and data quality assurance.
    • Perform variance analysis on projects within the fixed broadband division.
    • Produce analysis and business intelligence for Fixed broadband by utilizing various tools and drawing on proven proficiency and experience (including all aspects of the architecture of cube/report design, creation, etc.).
    • Provide management with fact-based, business-oriented, actionable insights to facilitate informed decision-making.
    • Validation and control of revenue reports.
    • Provide and articulate an understanding of secondary data sources and knowledge of the interoperability of data sources.
    • Assist in the identification and mitigation of risks that may impact the business and provide scenarios to achieve the most favorable financial returns.
    • Generate periodic product performance assessment reports and reviews.
    • Provide micro- and macro-environmental insights (economic factors, competitor analysis, etc.) and effective recommendations to drive revenue growth and mitigate identified risks.
    • Manage periodic data queries, extraction, validation, and reporting processes.
    • Collaborate with other business units in the development of business models for use in MTNN and develop measurement strategies to support ongoing strategy development and project optimization.

    Education:

    • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Information systems management, or related fields
    • Fluent English

    Experience:

    3–7 years of working experience, which includes;

    • 2 years’ experience in the area of data science, analytics, business systems, business intelligence, and any related discipline.
    • 2 years minimum within the Telco environment
    • Experience as a business performance analyst.
    • Strong talent for drawing conclusions and recommendations from complex data sets
    • Proven experience in business intelligence tools (Oracle, SAS, Business Objects, DB2, etc.)
    • Experience in data warehousing and dataflow structure within telecoms industry is desirable.

    Manager - Enterprise Risk Management

    Mission:

    • To manage the Enterprise Risk Management initiatives and to ensure the implementation of risk management best practices by analyzing current and potential risks and reporting on risk exposures and prevention strategies for the business.

    • Drive best practices, continuous improvement, and innovation at the process and procedure level within the Risk Management and Compliance division, as well as utilize appropriate models for analyzing potential risks to the business, taking a 360-degree view of the organization's risk profile.
    • Construct, implement, and fine-tune methods, processes, and systems to enhance effectiveness, meet organizational goals, and ensure the implementation and maintenance of enterprise risk management policies and procedures.
    • Provide input into the development of risk management policies and procedures; benchmark local and international risk management best practices and strategies; and analyze local conditions as well as competitor activity to create a competitive advantage.
    • Provide input into the development of plans for the roll-out of Risk Management in conjunction with the business units across MTNN, in alignment with the group risk management framework, and the implementation of improvements to risk management capabilities within business units in MTNN.
    • Align operational targets with business strategy and assist the Senior Manager, Enterprise Risk Management, in establishing and implementing structures to comply with the Group Risk Management Framework in conjunction with the business units across MTNN.
    • Generate and submit reports to the Risk Management and Compliance Committee on a quarterly basis, and ensure the preparation of risk management reports for stakeholders when required.

    Education:

    • First degree in a related discipline
    • Fluent in English
    • A qualified Chartered Accountant (ACCA or ACA) would be an added advantage.

    Experience:

    6–13 years’ experience, which includes:

    • A minimum of 3 years’ experience in an area of specialization, with experience in supervising or managing others

    Coordinator - Project Core and BSC

    Mission:

    • Develop the best project models for effective project management for running core projects in MTN Nigeria as it relates to network implementation.
    • Maintain a sound working relationship between the project implementation team and all associated parties, within and outside MTN.

    Description:

    • Track and monitor the project budget and ensure spending remains within limits, as well as minimize inventory costs, bordering basically on the impairment of fibre materials.
    • Develop and maintain a detailed project schedule and provide project support.
    • Evaluate project requirements and coordinate resources according to the project plan.

    Manager - Voice Propositions

    Mission:

    • Create and drive the overarching voice proposition strategy for MTN Nigeria to drive sustainable and profitable market volume and value growth for MTN Nigeria.

    Officer - Customer Operations

    Mission:

    • Contribute to the sustenance of the MTN brand by providing high-quality customer care to all MTN’s customers through assigned media or within a designated location.

    Description:

    • Market MTN products and services to current and potential customers.
