Key Responsibilities

• Conceptualize and communicate the vision of every magazine edition across board
• Organize meetings with writers and designers to discuss and plan the features section of the magazine
• Send regular briefs to writers that include deadlines, writing style, etc.
• Research with the editorial team and generate list of possible cover stars and featured stars across Africa for each edition
• Commission features and stories from in-house writers or freelancers
• Suggest stories and generate headline ideas in alignment with each edition and its targeted audience’s preferences
• Manage writing staff and freelance content producers.
• Edit and re-write articles, some of which may be rejected or returned to the writer for revision
• Ensure that all feature articles comply with ethical codes of practice and legal guidelines Represent the magazine brand in relevant events, fairs and conferences
• Coordinate online or print publishing cycle and managing content areas
• Liaise with the Digital Marketer on content creation for blogs and vlogs for the magazine website
• Liaise with the Social Media Manager on content curation for the magazine's social media pages
• Set publication standards and establish goals and expectations
• Proofread, edit, rewrite and sub articles to meet publication standards and ensure it is ready to go to the press
• Oversee layout (artwork, design, photography) and check content for accuracy and errors
• Plan and monitor budget allocation for the publishing of each edition
• Organize strategic meetings with editorial team from time to time to meet departmental KPIs
• Drive sponsorship, adverts and promotions for the magazine
• Drive collaborations with glam team for Cover star photoshoot for each edition.
• Develop realistic strategies for online and offline sales of published magazine edition
• Network actively at industry events.
• Attend photo shoots for cover stars and featured stars interviews
• Actively raise the profile of the publication
• Submit weekly report of all activities and deliverables
• Perform other task as assigned by the Management.

Requirements

• Candidates should possess a Bachelor's Degree qualification with 3 - 5 years work experience.

Responsibilities
Business Development Planning:

• Analyze the customer base across Creatrix Empire/Afrobeatsglobal to establish a common approach to retention and growth
• Enhance operational staff business development capabilities and work with them to achieve their winning works targets
• Develops and regularly updates a comprehensive business development plan, with targeted goals, objectives, methods, quantifiable outcomes and timelines to achieve agency sustainability and annual budget goals.

Business Intelligence:

• Develop an understanding of relevant sectors and how they are likely to respond
• Undertake key research to understand the Business and project drivers of sectors, customers and potential opportunities
• Analyzes and identifies scope for business case analysis and recommends solutions and improvements to business procedures.

Client Relationships:

• Engage with sectors and customers to anticipate potential business opportunities and implement actions that will position the company with differentiated advantage
• Ensure effective management of customer satisfaction surveys
• Prepare programmes of external communication, customer engagement and brand promotion that will contribute to the achievement of the company’s objectives.

Business Management:

• Identify and maintain new contacts and networks relevant for business development and project identification
• Develop key strategic consultancy partnerships, in line with the organization’s partnership framework
• Assess value for money and make recommendations for improvement.

Key Networking/Events:

• Organize and represent the company at key networking events to raise the company profile.

General:

• Secure clients and partnerships for the company on a monthly basis.
• Develop and implement an annual Business Development plan for the Company.
• Prepare an annual marketing budget with the marketing team and manage the budget throughout the year.
• Strengthen the Company’s business development and marketing processes, systems and procedures including: the marketing and contacts database; knowledge database and management; lead identification, selection, and management; lead and opportunities pipeline; etc.
• Maintain a cycle of business development activities including the identification and cultivation of potential clients, market research, preparing marketing strategies and plans, marketing visits, presentations, attendance at conferences and seminars, delivering and publishing papers and generally maintaining for the Company a high-profile presence in the market.
• Strengthen the processes, systems and procedures to improve the quality and speed of preparation of expressions of interest, and proposals for opportunities and ensure continuous improvement.
• Cultivate and manage relationships with existing and potential key clients, strategic partner firms and independent consultants.
• Organize and implement a client and partner care program including: client satisfaction/feedback surveys, client and partner development activities, and client and partner events.
• Conduct reviews of projects, ensuring that any lessons learnt are appropriately disseminated and acted upon.
• Work in partnership with the creative team, develop creative briefs and guide creative direction to meet objectives for all advertising and public-facing communications, including print, digital, and video assets
• Manage content and updates for customer and internal touch points, establishing budget guidelines, participating in events, documenting business processes, and providing additional sales support
• Gather customer and market insights to inform outreach strategies, increase customer conversions, and generate more qualified leads
• Identify effectiveness and impact of current marketing initiatives with tracking and analysis, and optimize accordingly
• Present ideas and final deliverables to internal and external teams, and communicate with senior management about marketing programs, strategies, and budgets.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Management.
