    Livelihood Officer

    General Objective

    • Under the direct supervision of the Livelihood Supervisor, the Livelihood Officer is responsible for the daily implementation of the FSL Programming in Katsina State.

    Responsibilities and Tasks
    implementation and Mointoring of the FSL Activities:

    • Assist in sensitization of local government structures, communities, and traditional authorities on the targeting criteria and identification and registration of the beneficiaries.
    • Help oversee the delivery of regular Livelihood activities and help ensure the resolution of any problems within the community.
    • Assist in training of Premiere Urgence Internationale CBTs Monitors on Livelihood programming.
    • Actively participate in relevant field assessments to identify the beneficiaries’ needs and viable business opportunities, ensuring assessment findings are documented and that all assessments include a specific analysis of community needs
    • Organize the training of the Livelihoods beneficiaries on the identified IGAs
    • Conduct the implementation and monitoring of all activities, at the field level, as laid out in the Detail Implementation Plan (DIP).
    • Assist in the registration of targeted Households, ensuring that the data is collected and is recorded appropriately
    • Coordinate activities with local authorities, community members, other implementing actors and partners at the local level.
    • Compile and submit regular project reports and updates Integrate community approaches, protection mainstreaming, gender sensitivity and capacity building into all activities as appropriate.
    • Coordinate with MEAL team to map, identify and Monitor program participants on the various IGAs.
    • Lead in the selection and registration of beneficiaries with support from MEAL Team.
    • Conduct the sensitization of beneficiaries on program activities and objectives.
    • Conduct market assessment to ascertain the most profitable skills/IGAs in the intervention locations.
    • Coordinate post distribution monitoring with MEAL team.
    • Identify emerging issues related to the IGAs and make recommendation for further solution.
    • Conduct vulnerability mapping with community representatives to identify the most vulnerable new arrival IDP in communities of implementation
    • Monitor the viable income generating activities (IGAs) programs, to allow families to be able to cover their basic needs

    Reporting and Monitoring:

    • Report on the progress of specific tasks assigned, problems encountered, actions taken as well as the quality of relations with beneficiaries
    • Submit the daily task and weekly situational report to his/her line manager on daily and weekly basis respectively
    • Collect any relevant information from the communities and partners, and reports to his/her supervisor
    • Collect, enter and compute simple analysis of the necessary FSL data when needed
    • Extract and pass on statistics on l FSL activities to his/her line manager
    • Contribute to the capitalization of best practices on FSL activities
    • Keep monitoring tools and files archived at the PUI office, ensuring their availability to his/her line manager
    • Pass on any information or problems to his/her direct and/or indirect supervisor concerning his/her task, PUI programs, or safety aspects

    Logistic and Administration:

    • Support the logistical and administrative organization, planning, and preparation as directed by the supervisor
    • Ensure the proper use of materials and tools during on-site works (phones and other devices)
    • Manage the supply of materials to the work site in collaboration with her/his Line Manager and Logistic Department

    Mother Baby Corner (MBC) Nurse

    Job Summary

    • Under the technical supervision of the health and nutrition Project Manager and the line management of the health facility medical officer, the MBC Nurse will run and develop the provision of activities within the mother and Baby Corner in the OTP/SC/HF.
    • This include performing the mother & child activities, to collaborate with health/nutrition staffs to integrate MBC activities within the HF/SC and to monitor and report on activities on regular bases to the base office through the medical officer and coordination team through the health and nutrition manager.

    Responsibilites

    • To promote, protect and advocate for optimal Health and Nutrition practices through the implementation of MIYCN activities.
    • To perform the activities within the MBC with the mothers and the babies
    • To conduct group psychoeducational sessions with mothers/caregivers
    • To assess, identify and refer beneficiaries with mild-moderate psychological distress
    • To contribute to develop MBC activities and its inclusion within the SC/HF with the close support of health and nutrition Project manager and the PSS advisor in coordination
    • To ensure the day-to-day monitoring of the overall activity and provide regular reports to Base and coordination offices.
    • To attend on job and refresher trainings and supervision sessions led by the technical Manager.
    • To facilitate on the job trainings and sessions on best childcare practices that complement positive medical outcome for admitted children
    • Entertaining children and mothers at the MBC centre and ensure psychological support and general wellbeing.

    Specific Goals and Related Activities
    Implementation of the mother and Baby Corner’s activities:

    • Welcome the beneficiaries and provide systematic individual consultation with new beneficiaries.
    • Provide day-to-day psychosocial activities (including mother & child group activities and identification of severe distress)
    • Participate actively on the design of MBC planning of activities according to beneficiary needs and feasibility.
    • Perform the activities in accordance with international Care Practices standards: Baby bath, baby massage, playing session with mother and infants, etc.

    Communication, Monitoring and Reporting:

    • Ensure the MBC visibility within the OTP/ SC/HF
    • Ensure the promotion of MBC activities toward beneficiaries.
    • Ensure the promotion of understanding of the MBC approach among beneficiaries and stakeholders.
    • Fill in all reporting and data collection forms in daily basis to ensure quality reporting.
    • Weekly data entry of collected information from the field.
    • Attend the weekly MHPSS supervision/ on job training meeting.
    • Attend all MHPSS/PFA related trainings given by PUI.
    • Assist with any other related activities as deemed necessary by the MHPSS advisor.

    Team Management:

    • Under the direct management of: /Medical officer/ Health/Nutrition Project Manager
    • Under the technical supervision of: PSS Advisor
    • In supervision of: MBC Facilitator(s).

    Psycho-Social Support Worker

    General Objective

    • Under the supervision of the Psycho-Social Support Supervisor, the psycho-social worker will perform all MHPSS activities in the field, including case management and referral to other services.
    • Besides this, S/He will fill data records, and perform data entry on weekly basis. S/He will take part in weekly office meetings, attend formal trainings, on job training, and provide weekly case presentations.

    Responsibilities and Task
    Implementation of the PSS activities:

    • Provide psycho-social support, and psychological first aid to survivors who have experienced psychological trauma, torture, gender based violence GBV, domestic violence, and when necessary to survivors of natural disasters
    • Work in collaboration with PHCC and outpost staff to receive referred beneficiaries, ensure follow up of referred PSS/ PFA beneficiaries, and provide guidance to health facility staff on PSS
    • Provide screening and assessment on psychological trauma
    • Sensitize, psycho-educate, problem solve, dialogue and mediate with the beneficiaries population about issues of war, torture, trauma, violence and GBV
    • Ensure all work with clients is confidential and that ethical practices are observed in culturally appropriate way, especially with respect to gender sensitivities
    • Perform community awareness on trauma and psychosocial support to beneficiaries and community leaders
    • Refer patients when needed to more specialized services in link with the deputy MHPSS advisor
    • Perform case follow up and case management when there is need
    • Develop action plan for the follow up patients
    • Engage in self-care through supervision, debriefings, and other shared sessions

    Communication and reporting:

    • Become proficient with the MHPSS data collection tools, conduct, and submit screening and assessments reports in a timely and accurate manner
    • Fill in all reporting and data collection forms in daily basis to ensure quality reporting
    • Weekly data entry of collected information from the field
    • Attend the weekly MHPSS supervision/ on job training meeting
    • Attend all MHPSS/PFA related trainings given by PUI
