    Knowledge Management and Dissemination Officer

    PURPOSE

    • The Knowledge Management and Dissemination (KMD) Officer Manager is responsible for supporting the implementation of a fit-for-purpose programme’s KMD strategy. Although the specific responsibilities of the KMD Officer are detailed below, these are not exhaustive and may change as the programme grows and evolves.

    Primary Duties And Responsibilities

    • Support the development and updating of intervention-specific knowledge management guides and learning agendas.
    • Support the process of developing and refining communications and knowledge products to support learning, decision-making and adaptive management. Some of these products include research outputs, success stories, fact sheets, lessons learned, periodic reports, etc.
    • Assist in managing the programme’s knowledge management repositories (SharePoint, website, etc.) to ensure that relevant information materials are available and updated for users.
    • Track and analyse feedback from users of the respective knowledge products and present findings to the team for further action.
    • Support in organising internal and external knowledge-sharing and learning events.
    • Support in taking digital (video/photo) products during events or activities for distribution on all social media platforms and engage appropriately with the audience on social media.
    • Support the review and editing of programme reports and outputs from consultants, content development for the programme website and social media pages, and the development of video materials and documentaries.
    • Maintain regular engagements and collaboration with the technical team, MERL, and communications teams to support programme-wide learning, adaptation, and strategic communications.
    • Work closely with the MERL team to conduct studies/surveys and to ensure lessons learnt from interventions are documented and disseminated to a broader audience.
    • Undertake frequent field visits to intervention states and locations for various communications, KM and MERL-related assignments.

    REPORTING AND LINE MANAGEMENT

    • This post will report to the Knowledge Management and Dissemination Manager and co-supervise some consultants and vendors hired to support the various deliverables.

    Core

    Required Qualifications:

    • BSc or MSc degree in a relevant discipline, including communications, agriculture, social sciences, or other related degrees.
    • At least 3 years of experience in Communications and/or Knowledge Management Officer or Specialist role.

    Desired

    • Relevant experience with digital media production and management, graphic design tools (Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, etc), storytelling and writing, journalism and reporting.
    • Experience working in development programmes and in Northern agricultural markets or value chains.
    • Fluency in speaking and understanding Hausa.

    Skills To Be Demonstrated

    • Proficiency in using MS Word, MS PowerPoint and infographics/graphic design tools.
    • Strong abilities in proofreading, aligning, editing, and formatting reports.
    • Exceptional writing skills with consistent language, structure, diction, and style.
    • Verbal and written communication skills (in English)

    Monitoring, Evaluation, Research, and Learning (MERL) Manager

    PURPOSE

    • The MERL Manager will design and implement effective monitoring and evaluation processes for assigned programme interventions following the programme's technical and MERL strategies. The key responsibilities detailed below are not exhaustive and may change as the programme grows and evolves.

    Primary Duties And Responsibilities

    • Lead the development and update of intervention guides for each intervention. This includes developing and updating results chains, monitoring plans, support calculations and intervention learning.
    • Oversee intervention monitoring and data collection to generate high-quality and timely data for reporting and decision-making.
    • Lead the conduct of intervention baseline and outcome surveys, market research, diagnostics, scoping studies, GESI studies, etc.
    • Synthesise evidence from data collection and surveys and provide regular feedback to intervention teams to support the adaptive management of the programme’s interventions.
    • Design effective study tools, instruments, methods and plans for gathering information that can inform programme strategies and capture the impact of interventions.
    • Oversee the collation of output data from partners and ensure proper desk review, field-based verification and upload of validated data on programme MIS systems.
    • Undertake frequent performance monitoring field visits and provide improvement feedback to the technical team on return.
    • Work closely with the Communications and Knowledge Management teams to ensure that successes and lessons from interventions are documented and disseminated to a broader audience.
    • Support periodic review and learning sessions, working with the Knowledge Management team.
    • Develop monthly/quarterly/yearly work plans and budgets with other members of the MERL, Communications and Knowledge Management Team.
    • Manage, inspire and support the MERL Specialist(s) to execute their roles and responsibilities.
    • Undertake any other duties assigned.

    REPORTING AND LINE MANAGEMENT

    • This post will report to the MERL Director and supervise one or more MERL Specialists.

    Core

    Required Qualifications:

    • BSc or MSc degree in a relevant discipline, including economics, geography, statistics, evaluation, agriculture, social sciences, or other related degrees.
    • At least 5 years MERL experience working with agricultural-related programmes similar to Propcom+. This experience can be a combination of MERL Manager and Specialist/Officer roles or solely MERL Specialist/Officer experience.

    Desired

    • Experience implementing DCED standards in programmes.
    • Experience working in Northern agricultural markets or value chains.
    • Fluency in speaking and understanding Hausa.

    Skills To Be Demonstrated

    • Analytical skills and expertise in using MS Excel, Power BI, and other data analysis tools.
    • Development of surveys and data collection instruments using KoboToolbox.
    • Verbal and written communication skills (in English)
    • Soft skills: strategic thinking, detail orientation, problem-solving, analytical, teamwork, team management, and task management skills.

    PURPOSE

The key responsibilities detailed below are not exhaustive and may change as the programme grows and evolves

    Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Support the development and update of intervention guides for each intervention with special focus on results chains and monitoring plans.
    • Support the conduct of various studies, including baseline and outcome surveys, market research, diagnostics, scoping studies, and GESI studies.
    • Review output data from partners, carry out spot check field-based verification and upload validated data on programme MIS systems.
    • Undertake frequent performance monitoring field visits and provide improvement feedback to the technical team on return.
    • Conduct regular data analysis (using output-level data from partners/other sources, survey data, secondary data) and present actionable insights to the team.
    • Support the design of effective tools, instruments, methods and plans for collecting data on partners and programme performance.
    • Support intervention teams in gathering relevant information for their various interventions, identifying knowledge gaps where available, and developing strategies to fill those gaps.
    • Work closely with the Communications and Knowledge Management team to document and disseminate stories and lessons learnt from interventions.
    • Manage the day-to-day activities and performance of field-level data collectors when they are engaged by the programme.

    REPORTING AND LINE MANAGEMENT

    • This post will report to a MERL Manager and supervise ad hoc MERL field officers

    Required Qualifications:

    Core:

    • BSc or MSc degree in a relevant discipline, including economics, geography, statistics, evaluation, agriculture, social sciences, or other related degrees.
    • At least 3 years MERL Specialist or Officer experience working with agricultural-related programmes similar to Propcom+.
