    Field Technician Abuja

    The field technician will fulfill hands-on field requirements of the Engineering Team. Tasks in this role will involve a lot of physical work and interaction with live electrical circuits. The employee will also learn innovative PV design skills. Prior experience working in the Electrical environment and with Solar systems is required.

    Duties and Responsibilities

    • Site Audits
    • Preliminary visits to site with Business Development Manager to understand Electrical network
    • Site metering – ensuring proper connection of data loggers, and collection of accurate data
    • Reporting – Metering Data, Site Evaluation Report, etc.

    Project Installation

    • Support Project Team during installation and commissioning of sites
    • Coordinate activities of field-hands during project execution
    • Reporting – Installation Progress Updates, Risk Register, Punch List, etc.

    Operations and Maintenance

    • Troubleshoot and resolve faults on site
    • Perform regularly scheduled site inspection visits
    • Perform planned preventive maintenance (PPM) activities
    • Reporting – O&M Report, Fault Tracker, etc.

    Key Performance Indicators - As aligned with Manager

    Requirements

    Education, Knowledge, Skills and Experience

    • Minimum of an Ordinary National Diploma or Higher National Diploma
    • Minimum of 2 years work experience in Electrical Engineering roles and solar systems
    • Language Proficiency: English.
    • Good grasp of Microsoft Office tools
    • Persistence and attention to detail in carrying out duties
    • Experience working in a professional environment
    • Ability to work efficiently with little to no supervision
    • Ability to work in outdoor environment

    Operations and Maintenance Engineer

    This role is responsible for planning, scheduling and ensuring execution of daily, weekly and monthly activities to ensure smooth operations of the solar power plants. The O&M Engineer takes the responsibility of monitoring the performance of the solar power plants on a day-to-day basis and must be available in the event of a fault.

    Duties and Responsibilities

    You will be a proactive and integral member of the team carrying out the following:

    • Identify problems with operational plants, and develop and drive implementation of corrective action
    • Serve as company operations liaison with client, and ensure that all communication is promptly reported to management, and resolved in a timely fashion
    • Schedule and coordinate preventive and corrective maintenance activities
    • Provide timely reports from field operation, site performance and other information as may be requested by management
    • Respond to site call-outs and maintain register of faults and site incidents, as well as repair activities and the time and materials expended on tasks completed
    • Ensure that all O&M activities performed at project sites comply with OEM (original equipment manufacturer) requirements
    • Support Supply Chain in stock acquisition and management.
    • Drive warranty claim processes where applicable for repairs or maintenance.

    Requirements

    Education, Knowledge, Skills and Experience

    • B.Sc/HND. in an Engineering field or any other relevant field
    • Minimum of 2 years of experience in similar role
    • Good leadership skills
    • Read and interpret technical designs and specifications
    • Very good grasp of Microsoft Office tools
    • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
    • Excellent project management skills
    • Creative problem-solving
    • A strategic and analytical mind
    • Persistence and attention to detail in pursuit of objectives
    • Ability to work efficiently with little to no supervision
