Process Technician/Production Technician at BGE(Nigeria)Solar FZE

Our company is looking for a skilled and detail-oriented Photovoltaic Cell Process Technician to support the control and optimization of production processes, ensuring high product yield, efficiency, and consistent quality standards. The successful candidate will play a key role in monitoring production, improving processes, and maintaining strict compliance with operational and safety standards.

Job Responsibilities

Photovoltaic Cell Process Technician – Job Responsibilities

Core Positioning: Responsible for the control and optimization of process parameters, product yield, conversion efficiency, and process standards.

Process Parameters and Standards

• Participate in the formulation and optimization of process parameters for the entire process, including texturing, diffusion, etching, PECVD, screen printing, sintering, and sorting.
• Maintain and update SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures), and supervise strict on-site implementation.
• Establish SPC (Statistical Process Control) and monitor key indicators such as efficiency, yield, breakage rate, and color difference.

Production Site Control

• Conduct daily inspections of all processes and correct non-compliant operations.
• Handle process abnormalities (e.g., low efficiency, yield fluctuations, color variation, contamination, micro-cracks), quickly identify root causes, and resolve them.
• Track production data and analyze the relationship between parameters and cell performance (efficiency, Voc, Isc, Rs).

Experimentation and Improvement

• Assist engineers in conducting DOE (Design of Experiments), new process validation, and evaluation of new materials/slurries/gases.
• Promote improvement projects such as yield increase, efficiency improvement, cost reduction, and breakage reduction.
• Compile experiment reports, improvement reports, and failure analysis (FA).

Documentation and Training

• Complete process reports, inspection checklists, exception records, and batch records.
• Provide training to frontline staff on processes, SOPs, and quality standards.
• Participate in implementing 5S/6S, ESD, chemical safety, and cleanroom standards.
