Job Summary
The Project Manager is responsible for the end-to-end planning, coordination, and execution of construction and architectural projects. This role ensures that all projects are delivered on time, within budget, and in line with quality and design standards.
The ideal candidate must have a background in Architecture or Engineering, with strong project management capability, site experience, and the ability to coordinate multiple stakeholders effectively.
Key Responsibilities
Project Planning & Execution
- Develop detailed project plans, timelines, and execution strategies
- Define project scope, deliverables, and milestones
- Ensure alignment between design, procurement, and site execution
- Drive project delivery from inception to completion
Site Coordination & Supervision
- Oversee daily site operations and activities
- Ensure construction aligns with approved drawings and specifications
- Conduct regular site inspections and progress reviews
- Resolve technical and operational issues on-site
Budgeting & Cost Control
- Work with Quantity Surveyors to prepare and review project budgets
- Monitor project costs and ensure adherence to approved budgets
- Prevent cost overruns through effective planning and control
- Approve and track project-related expenditures
Stakeholder Management
- Coordinate with architects, engineers, contractors, and consultants
- Serve as the key point of contact for project-related communication
- Manage client expectations and provide regular project updates
- Facilitate meetings and follow up on action points
Quality Assurance & Compliance
- Ensure all construction activities meet quality standards
- Enforce compliance with building regulations and safety standards
- Maintain strict adherence to company policies and procedures
- Conduct quality checks and inspections at key project stages
Procurement & Resource Coordination
- Collaborate with procurement team on sourcing materials and services
- Ensure timely availability of resources for project execution
- Monitor vendor and contractor performance
Risk Management & Problem Solving
- Identify potential project risks early
- Develop and implement mitigation strategies
- Handle unforeseen challenges efficiently without compromising timelines
Reporting & Documentation
- Prepare regular project progress reports for management
- Maintain proper documentation of all project activities
- Track KPIs and project performance metrics
Requirements & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Architecture, Civil Engineering, Building Technology, or related field
- Minimum of 5–8 years experience in project management within construction or architecture
- Proven experience managing multiple projects simultaneously
- Strong knowledge of construction processes, site management, and project execution
- Proficiency in project management tools and Microsoft Office
- Knowledge of Nigerian building regulations and industry standards
