OVRVIEW:
Three (3) candidates are needed for this position
Agriculture Assistant role typically involves supporting agricultural projects, including assisting in the implementation of training, monitoring, and evaluation of field activities. The assistant will also be involved in data collection, documentation, and input distribution. The agriculture assistant will be working closely with farmers and local communities.
Field Work and Implementation:
Farmers Training:
- Facilitating and assisting in the delivery of training programs on agricultural practices, techniques, and new technologies.
Monitoring and Evaluation:
- Collecting data from farmers, monitoring the progress of agricultural projects, and documenting field activities.
Input Distribution:
- Organizing and supervising the distribution of agricultural inputs, ensuring efficient and timely delivery to beneficiaries.
Community Engagement:
- Liaising with local communities, building relationships with community leaders, and organizing sensitization sessions.
Data Collection:
- Gathering baseline data, conducting surveys, and collecting data on crop progress, market prices, and farmer adoption of new practices.
Support and Administrative Tasks:
Project Planning and Reporting:
- Assisting in the planning of project activities, preparing reports, and documenting project achievements and challenges.
Logistics:
- Supporting logistics for training activities, field visits, and input distribution.
Communication:
- Maintaining regular communication with project staff, farmers, and community members.
Vendor Management:
- Supporting the identification, registration, and management of local vendors who supply agricultural inputs.
Capacity Building:
- Supporting the development and implementation of training programs to build the capacity of farmers and local organizations.
Supporting market systems development:
- Assisting in the implementation of programs that connect farmers to markets and improve access to inputs.
