    English / Literature Teacher

    Job Summary

    • A reputable International school committed to academic excellence, safeguarding and promoting the welfare of young people, seeks to engage a Qualified English/Literature Teacher for its Secondary students.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Deliver high-quality lessons in English Language and English Literature, across KS3 and KS4 (IGCSE)
    • Plan, prepare, and assess engaging lessons that meet curriculum standards.
    • Assess students’ class work and assignments; keep and maintain assessment records at all times.
    • Implement the school’s teaching and learning policy and effectively follow the procedures for assessing, recording, and reporting students’ progress, as well as setting targets for further improvement in line with the whole school policy.
    • Ensure safeguarding and protect the welfare of children and young people
    • Support students’ development of critical thinking, creativity, and communication skills.
    • Monitor and report on student progress regularly.
    • Keep subject attendance and updated assessment records at all times.
    • Provide learning interventions in English Language for students who require it

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree or higher in English or any related field.
    • Ateachingqualification registered with the TRCN -TeachersRegistration Council of Nigeria would be an added advantage.
    • Minimum 5 years of teaching experience as an English language Teacher in a structured School.
    • Good understanding of the British curriculum.
    • Good Communication skills, both verbal and written.
    • Proven experience teaching English/Literature following the British curriculum.
    • Strong classroom management and interpersonal skills.
    • Ability to inspire and motivate students from diverse backgrounds.
    • Excellent interpersonal and planning skills.
    • Good understanding of students' differentiated learning strategies.
    • Cambridge qualifications in English/Literature, exposure to the IGCSE curriculum, and IGCSE English language certification would be an added advantage.

    Mandarin Teacher

    Key Responsibilities

    • Teach Mandarin language courses across Key Stages 3 - 4 following the British curriculum and international language standards.
    • Develop engaging lesson plans that promote speaking, listening, reading, and writing skills.
    • Regularly provide class work and assignments; keep and maintain assessment records at all times.
    • Implement the school’s teaching and learning policy and effectively follow the procedures for assessing, recording, and reporting students’ progress, as well as setting targets for further improvement in line with the whole school policy.
    • Ensure safeguarding and protect the welfare of children and young people
    • Prepare students for language assessments, including IGCSE and other relevant qualifications.
    • Foster interest in the Chinese language and culture through creative teaching methods and extracurricular activities.
    • Monitor and assess student progress, providing constructive feedback.
    • Collaborate with colleagues to integrate Mandarin into the wider school curriculum and events.
    • Maintain a safe and inclusive classroom environment that encourages student participation.
    • Provide learning interventions in Mandarin language for students who require it

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree in Mandarin, Chinese Language, Education, or a related field.
    • Teaching qualification, i.e., PGCE or equivalent international certification.
    • Proven experience teaching Mandarin, preferably within a British or international school setting.
    • Cambridge qualifications in the subjects are an added advantage.
    • Strong command of Mandarin and English language.
    • Familiarity with the British curriculum and the IGCSE Mandarin syllabus is an advantage.
    • Excellent interpersonal and planning skills.
    • Passion for teaching and ability to inspire students of diverse backgrounds.
    • Minimum 5 years of teaching experience as a Mandarin Teacher in a structured School.
    • Good Communication skills, both verbal and written.
    • Strong classroom management and interpersonal skills.
